Ahhhh…@OldGuildfordPS you made our day! Thanks so much for sharing the things you’re doing and thinking! We really like that you’re having a ball and doing some hard thinking too. We look forward to the updates from your classrooms too!
Another great module as part of the Working with the Big Ideas PL. Our @OldGuildfordPS team had a ball unpacking the Big Ideas of Trusting the Count and Place Value through thought-provoking play. Thanks again @TregoningMich, @missalikhan & the team for another engaging PL!

Thank you both! (p.s I love a good challenge so I’ll see what I can do with the challenge you offered!)

I just checked out the Arabic translation. What a great resource for families to engage with their child’s learning. Schools could so easily share them on their school app. 👏 – at Sydney, New South Wales
I think you’ll appreciate this update on the Everyday Maths Hub @johnqgoh. As always, there are plans afoot but it’s nice to share this milestone that many different teams helped achieve. Our inner mathematicians feel ☺️. You can find the resources here education.nsw.gov.au/teachin…
I learnt about using metaphor tasks from @janettebobis at Sydney Uni. This is a nice paper the team wrote researchgate.net/publication…

Celebrate #WomenInMaths Day on 12 May with a screening of the doco “Secrets of the Surface”, featuring mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani. The online/in-person event at @Sydney_Uni will be followed by talks w/ two mathematicians featured in the film.bit.ly/3uigdDT #May12WIM
We throughly enjoy preparing the PL and playing maths with some of our students... and we feel so pleased when we contribute to having sweaty-brained, happy and excited teachers taking mathematics! It’s a real joy!
Thoroughly enjoyed playing and engaging in sweaty brain work as part of the @DoE_Mathematics Working with the Big Ideas PL. Its so important to make maths fun and I’m excited to engage in this work with our students!
I feel so privileged to have been a teeny part of this story with you @CampbellfieldPS! You remind me that the effort and discomfort is always worthwhile. Such lovely and caring stories you share @annemathswatson - thank you for writing this book!
Feeling honoured to contribute to Prof. Emeritus @annemathswatson latest book ‘Care in Mathematics Education.’ @NSWEducation @TregoningMich @ONeillKristie @FarnhamRosemary @gould_peter @KrisWestcott1 @theschoolmag @_iEndo @nrichmaths @MathsAssocNSW @DoE_Mathematics @dizdarm
I love your work (and the work of the team at Campbellfield) @HokinSuzanne! Great sweaty-brained thinking little mathematicians!
At Campbellfield we are all Mathematicians, working together to solve problems by talking and explaining our ideas and our understanding. @CampbellfieldPS @_iEndo @TregoningMich @NSWEducation @gould_peter @ONeillKristie @FarnhamRosemary @MelindaHollandR

This is absolutely incredible. We need to run some sort of mathematical art competition in NSW public schools using #Desmos. @TregoningMich @missalikhan @Daniel_P_DoE @meaganrodda @david_watson23 @Jennife07538761 @misterwootube
Let's go #BehindTheGraph with "Hummingbird" by Veronika Price from Berkeley High School! Throw a 💚 down for Veronika! desmos.fun/hummingbird
Today's lunch time fun (take 2) - an episode of "Mabble: battle royale!" It's @missalikhan's turn...what would you suggest if you were part of Ayesha's team @attard_c? (We feel like you might have some insights 😊) What are you thinking @jkblue?
I love the session selfie tradition you’ve started us on @jkblue!
Another brilliant statewide staff meeting today - 130+ of us! 🙌The team facilitated a wonderful PL session on what differentiation can look like in a mathematics classroom. We❤️our @DoE_Mathematics community - how good is THIS session selfie?!📸👍 @NSWEducation

🪄 Mind reading magic?
I love this little resource on the @NSWEducation Everyday Maths Hub! There are lots of fun tricks adults and kids can work on together to amaze family and friends... Can YOU figure out the mathematics behind the magic? 🤔

This is why it is so important to attend to elementary teacher's mindsets and remove maths anxiety - more important research from @sianbeilock
Kindy students at Kieraville PS looked for collections of three. They took photos of their discoveries & sorted their images into how they saw the three-ness of three (as 3; as 2 and 1; as 1 and 1 and 1) & wrote about their findings. Then they said "Over to you, mathematicians!"
Thanks @johnqgoh - that’s the sort of reaction we were hoping for! It was a big collaborative effort across teams within @NSWEducation. @jkblue, @missalikhan and I love the work that was included for “launch one” and we’re super excited for future updates too!
Spent the evening clicking on every link in the Everyday Maths Hub. Watching as many videos as possible. This is pretty awesome @TregoningMich and team.
