I realize it may not be common knowledge that in 2008 before Glee, Lea Michele debuted her Anthony Bordain inspired travel show where she traveled from Manhattan to Queens as a “borough travel junkie” for exactly one (1) episode that has been mostly scrubbed from the internet

My dear brother William @willmenaker Today, we did not send you an ordinary message of gratitude. Instead, we decided to write our gratitude on the walls of Gaza itself. The young members of Project Mohammed painted your portrait on one of the walls still standing amid the destruction, because your voice has never been merely distant words to us. Here, your voice has become water for thirsty children, bread for hungry families, and meals for people exhausted by hunger. The war may have destroyed the buildings around us, but it could never erase the gratitude in our hearts. We wanted your portrait to remain here, among the people you stood beside during the most difficult days of their lives. When the children saw the mural, we told them: “This is William—a man who may be far away, but whose heart is very close to Gaza. His voice helped bring you water and bread.” This is not simply a portrait on a shattered wall. It is a message from Gaza to you: You did not witness our suffering and remain silent. You helped the world see and hear us. Because of you, our team has been able to give thousands of families a measure of hope and life. From the children of Gaza, the young members of Project Mohammed, and the depths of our hearts: thank you, brother. You have become part of the story of this place, and your impact will remain engraved in our hearts—even if these walls disappear one day. 🤍 Support Project Mohammed directly: chuffed.org/project/171225

this show was one of the biggest sitcoms of the Obama Era and the poorly received finale plus MeToo two years later basically eliminated all lasting cultural impact

Imagine knowing not only that you fumbled a woman like this, but also said fumble initiated a chain of events that led to the collapse of the rules based international order.
Before she became Seven of Nine, Jeri Ryan was a lifeguard on Who’s the Boss? In 1991, Ryan appeared as Pam in The Unsinkable Tony Micelli — one of her earliest television roles, six years before joining Star Trek: Voyager.

Thomas Hoepker clearly was enamored by the World Trade Center even if his candids of those people talking in Williamsburg on 9/11 were pretty misleading. This photo from 1983 at Lovers Lane is one of my favorite shots ever.
