I have not connected to PC. The system shows that the hard drive has nothing on it but maybe it'll show something on a PC?
I figured that might be the case. It's still a GREAT change and should hopefully help the liquid metal stay in place.
To be fair I have not opened one of these up to look at it myself, I'm just going off of what the pics show.
Unless I'm missing something the only thing different is that the heat sink has machined grooves in it to help the liquid metal stay in place. I don't agree that it's an "ALL NEW cooling system", it's just grooves in the heat sink. It's also not "100% free of liquid metal"

That black piece pulls out, then a clear piece, then you can push the hinge pin through. Might wanna watch a video about how to do it.
I don’t remember whether you need one from the same model of ps4 but I’d do that just to be safe. They just slip right in. Nothing crazy you need to do.
