Looks like the top secret skunkworks EV in the world for the last 2 years isn't panning out
Ford is recalibrating its electrification strategy yet again, canceling plans for a fully electric SUV in a shift that may cost the carmaker around $1.9 billion trib.al/SxSVvgV
That would be fossil gas electricity with carbon capture and storage growing. Fossil gas on the whole would decline significantly in a net zero scenario.

Wind investment is sputtering thanks to permitting, local opposition, and transmission issues, meanwhile carbon management investment is booming because the government will now give you a lot of money to capture co2 heatmap.news/sparks/carbon-m…

Didn't think it would come quite this quickly for SunPower but they were clearly thrashing about. More optimistic that Sunrun can keep growing with storage success.
Sunrun has a chance to build a legitimate VPP business with their storage attach rates. It won't be easy but nothing worth doing ever is.

Strange that Hertz just couldn't manage to pull off their ironclad EV strategy
Reading the @Hertz rental jacket for those that asked about the cost to rent the manager’s special Silverado EV and discovered “You agree to replace the battery level used or pay a charge $ 10.99 per KWH”. DANG those are some PRICEY, PREMIUM electrons! 🥵 ⚡️
The only kinds of 20 year projects that complete ten years ahead of schedule are those that make massive profits for the company #EVs
Amazon hits EV milestone of 15,000 of its Rivian EDVs now in service.
The company famously partnered with Rivian in 2019, pouring serious money into a concept that (at the time) was little more than a sketch.
Amazon now plans to fully electrify its 100,000+ delivery van fleet by 2030 — ten years ahead of the original plan.

The education and marketing is great. Houses of worship also tend to be some of the bigger buildings in populated areas and their power consumption peaks on weekends usually. That's good news for getting exported power consumed more efficiently!
Churches, synagogues and mosques are using grants and 'direct-pay' tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act to install solar, generating clean energy that helps them fund their social missions and creating a solar "seeding effect" in their communities: canarymedia.com/articles/sol…
I don't understand this answer. There is no reason an app on a physical server cannot scale up or out. It's not because they weren't on the cloud. The problem might have been hard to track down but cloud isn't saving a website from going down on its own.
Q: Why did Centerpoint's outage tracker crash? Why were Houstonians using the Whataburger App?
A: Centerpoint was using a physical server that was overwhelmed due to demand. In 2024. It was not using a scalable cloud-based system.
(Thank you for your service @BBQBryan.)
Pretty cool at the end how the Amazon is just absorbing everything coming out of South America whereas US, China, and even Africa have plumes that mix into the atmosphere
Watch carbon dioxide move through Earth’s atmosphere.
With this high resolution model, scientists can see CO2 rising from sources like power plants, fires, and cities and watch how that carbon dioxide spreads via wind patterns and atmospheric circulation. go.nasa.gov/46kD7OD
This is awesome. I've experienced the same with my much smaller newsletter. 5 readers have reached out to tell me they've bought an EV after reading. One put in a heat pump water heater when his fuel oil based one died!
Sometimes a little information goes a long way.
