Very unprofessional conduct from the Ghanaian soldiers.
They should have slung their rifles, adopted the En Garde position and maintained a safe distance from the civilians.
The situation was clearly escalating, and there was no reason to allow civilians to get that close.
Soldiers must maintain proper weapon discipline, situational awareness and a safe buffer when tensions rise.
A rifle is not a tool for intimidation at close quarters. Maintaining distance helps create reaction time, reduces the risk of a physical struggle over a weapon and gives
The Hilux are there. It is part of Chad's military. It is always present for fast maneuver
You must always find a way to talk down on Nigeria. But go on
Gen Murtala jump to Gen was due to head of state appointment which was published in the part 2 orders.
However by order of number, Gen Obasanjo was senior but by appointment, Murtala is automatically the senior now
I need the military people here, both those serving and those who understand how the Army works, to help me explain this one.
Look at this promotion list from the Official Gazette.
You have H.E. Brig. M. R. Muhammed with Army personal number N/189, appointed as General, effective 29-7-75.
Then right below him you have Brig. O. Obasanjo with Army personal number N/46, appointed as Lt.-General, also effective 29-7-75.
Now my question is this: Does it mean Obasanjo was senior to Murtala?
Because by personal number, N/46 came in long before N/189. In the Army, a lower number usually means you joined earlier, so you are senior.
But here Murtala is made a full General, while Obasanjo is made only a Lt.-General.
And notice this too: Murtala moved straight from Brigadier to General in one single promotion. That means he was never a Major-General, and he was never a Lt.-General in the Army.
This same promotion is the one that caused serious bad blood with the Defence Minister at the time, General Illiya Bisalla. He felt bitter because some officers were promoted above him.
Sadly, Bisalla later paid with his life. When the failed Dimka coup of February 13th, 1976 took the life of General Murtala, Bisalla was among those arrested, tried, and publicly executed for their role in it.
So how una see this matter? Was Murtala's jump from Brigadier straight to General just because he had become Head of State?

Based on what I see on this app. Nigerian dating culture is just prostitution. Boy meets girl. Boy says you’re cute I would like to take you out. Girl sends money request. Boy pays or says no because she’s too expensive. Girls there have no values or morals they are driven by 💰
Where did you read that?

To start with.::police doesn’t belong under any ministry….they have their own body under Presidency and presidency is of higher body than any ministry in Nigeria…..secondly, don’t ever compare a major to an ACP in your life…it’s a wrong thing to do…..Major is equ to an SP
Sir, these soldiers are doing the wrong thing. From their boots and uniforms, it appears that they aren't in that situation you described.
They made this video for likes and comments
Lucky Buddies, they got bread and clean stream water to push it down 😁😂
In January 2025 while on a dangerous Advance our supplies (Food&Water) got exhausted after moving for 14-15days at the middle of Timbuktu Triangle, Borno State with no way of getting more except we hit the road for about 2-3 days to Gonori which is the closest location to us.
There is no thought that didn't come to the head of our Commanding Officer and the Snr Commanders behind at the Theatre HQ for a fastest possible way to delivering supplies but not achieved. We were left with the only options of adopting 0:0:1 for more days, the 1 can be anything broughtforward with nothing to push it down except our saliva 💔😭.

The Armed Forces and other security agencies operate under separate rank structures.
A rank in one agency does not automatically translate to an equivalent rank in another.
In designated military operations, the Armed Forces may take operational command, but the command
A longer magazine will affect the weapon's handling, overall weight and reliability.
30 rounds plus magazine weigh about 500g
40 rounds nears 600g, you are expected to hold minimum of 3 magazines, the extra weight would weigh you down
Chad relies heavily on mobility, rapid manoeuvre and light vehicles in open desert terrain.
I would love to see how they perform in dense jungle warfare and FIBUA, where visibility is restricted, movement is channelled, and armoured vehicles cannot manoeuvre as freely.
This is also story behind how the infamous Lungi barracks, Abuja got it's name
A lot of the heroic deeds of our boys during the ECOMOG ops went undocumented. I remembered one of such stories which happened In 1997.
A coup in Sierra Leone left about 30 Nigerian Air Force personnel stranded at Lungi International Airport. Besieged by Sierra Leonian Army loyalist to the coup plotters, they were dangerously low on food and ammunition.
Nigerian Air Vice Marshal Lucky Ararile. Piloting the C-130 Hercules from Liberia with a crew of nine, he executed a high risk landing of the plane using half the required runway (since the other half was held by hostile forces) by hitting maximum brakes to halt the plane in just half the distance to land.
To buy time on the tarmac, the crew pulled off a brilliant psyOps by convincing the rebel troops surrounding the airport that they had direct clearance from the coup leader to land.
Before the rebels realised they have been tricked, the C-130 rapidly unloaded a full company of Nigerian reinforcements led by Lt. Col. Kwaskebe, two Mowag, & Piranha APCs, four jeeps, and two weeks of combat supplies.
When the Sierra Leonean Army finally attacked that night, the newly reinforced troops crushed them, overran their barracks, and permanently secured Lungi.
This operation allowed Nigeria to establish a bridgehead which Brig. Gen. Maxwell Khobe used to launch the operations that eventually ousted the junta.
A game-changing mission that saved the entire operation, yet rarely discussed because, as Ararile later noted, it isn't in the military's nature to advertise.
Thankfully this story was captured and documented by the of Nigerian Military historian Oga @beegeaglesblog in his blog beegeagle.wordpress.com/2013…
