For example:
1. The Money Comes Right Back to America: Yearly, America sends $3.8 billion dollars to Israel. This money is falsely described as “foreign aid.” In reality, the money is neither “foreign aid,” nor a handout. In fact, almost all of the money that is given to Israel is immediately returned to America. Nearly all of the money has to be spent to purchase only US-made military equipment or systems. In reality, the money sent to Israel is actually invested into the American economy. The money invested into the American economy turns into mega-billions of dollars in returned value.
2. A professional auditing reveals that the $3.8 billion dollars which is given to Israel is actually a high-yield investment. The investment provides the US with an unprecedented Return-on-Investment (R-o-I). In addition, the investment serves as an irreplaceable financial multiplier for the US homeland and national security.
3. Israel is constantly under attack from Arab countries and Islamic terrorists. This reality means that Israel has the most real combat experience. When America sends new military equipment to Israel, then the equipment is tested in real life. America finds out if our equipment is effective or not.
4. The US maintains its military bases in Western Europe at an annual cost of $35 billion. This cost included maintaining 80,000 American troops. At the same time, the annual US investment in Israel is $3.8 billion with no large stand-alone US military bases, yielding to the US an annual Return-on-Investment of well over 1,000%.
5. Israel is constantly under attack. Israel uses American-made fighter jets in real combat, including strikes against military targets. By sending American equipment to Israel, the equipment becomes a battle-tested laboratory. This yields daily lessons and improvements, with equipment operations, maintenance, repairs, mechanical and technological. All of these tests are shared with the US manufacturers.
These lessons are integrated, by the US manufacturers, as modifications and upgrades in the next generation of the US military products. This process saves the US many years of research and development. Real combat saved America 10-20 years in the case of the F-35, F-16 and F-15 each. All of these tests amount to mega-billion dollars in savings and returns. Meaning, the total research and development cost of the F-35 was $55 billion, so imagine how much is saved by testing with Israel.

I just had a very disturbing conversation with a young man in the sauna at my local gym.
After exchanging some basic pleasantries, the conversation quickly moved to his family roots in Qatar. He told me about his father being mistreated there, despite "building much of the country's infrastructure." Without prompting, he made several remarks regarding the state of the Middle East, and before I knew it, we were talking about Israel.
He explained to me that global terrorism, and especially terrorism in Israel, was natural. "It's because people are trying to break out of prisons," he said. "Gaza is a concentration camp." While I repeatedly disagreed with him in a polite and measured tone, he grew more and more excited. "The only sovereign nation in the Middle East is Iran!" he told me. "How's that working out for them?" I asked. He also explained to me that "Israel has killed more children than any other country." I asked him about the horrific deaths of children in other wars, to which he had no answer. I asked him about Hamas using the people of Gaza as human shields. He refuted that, as well, suggesting that Hamas wouldn't harm children.
He then went on to explain that eventually, the Jews will be outnumbered — and that in time — Israel will be overrun and undone. He seemed exhilarated by the thought of it. "It's getting too hot in here," he said — before abruptly leaving. I just stood there stunned. By all accounts, a normal, probably well-educated young man in Canada, defending terrorism, celebrating the strength of the Iranian regime, and openly predicting Israel's destruction.
As I got changed and headed home, I couldn't stop thinking about our talk. There was no green bandana or inverted red triangle — but it was clear how he felt about the situation. How he viewed the world. There are thousands and thousands of young people like this here in Canada, and throughout the West — and in time — we're going to pay a civilizational cost for not addressing this problem when we had the chance.

Bill Maher: It’s a question I explore a lot on my show. Again, I think it’s a lack of education. They don’t know anything about the Middle East or its history.
They’ve been indoctrinated into this idea that the world is divided between oppressors and the oppressed, and that everything comes down to race.
They see Palestinians as brown and poor and assume they must be right, while Israelis are supposedly rich and white. That’s not even true. Israelis come from different backgrounds. It’s a much more complicated situation.
And somehow, at every point in history, it always seems to land back on the Jews.
I’m all for criticizing Israel where it deserves it. There are things happening in the West Bank that need to stop. But people have turned Gaza into a simple story of good versus evil without thinking through the history and the facts.
The problem with some white liberals is that it’s more important for them to feel like good people who know who the bad people are than to actually think the situation through.
Look at people wearing “Queers for Palestine” T-shirts in a place where being gay can put your life at risk. How can they not see that contradiction?
David Foster: I’ve heard you say that before.
Bill Maher: People change. Parties change. If Democrats had been flirting with communism and antisemitism back in 2010 the way some do now, I wouldn’t have supported them then either.
MY TAKE: Criticizing Israel shouldn’t automatically make someone antisemitic, and supporting Palestinians doesn’t mean someone supports anti-gay laws. But political movements should be willing to confront contradictions within their own side instead of treating every disagreement as a moral failure. Why has the debate over Israel become so difficult to have honestly?
