Looking out over Lake Michigan as I listen to Sailing by Christopher Cross #livingmyactionbronsonlife
Seeing @clipse for the second time, but first time in my home. Also first time seeing @JIDsv and @thesamaracyn in a few weeks at Red Rocks. I’m so excited, I just wish I could find a photo badge so I could make some new prints for the music area we’re putting together

I was 11 or 12 in Colorado Springs, I didn’t even know what a mixtape was but when that DMX album dropped even our young asses heard about it. My boy stole it out of the PX and I “borrowed” my mom’s discman so we could listen to it with one ear bud each walking from school lol

If you came of age during the golden era of hip-hop, R&B, & grunge in the ’90s and early 2000s, you may remember Res (@the1res), born Shareese Renée Ballard. These days, a lot of Gen Z is getting to know her, too.

Smoked him, made it obvious who it was about without saying his name and did Shawty Lo’s dance in front of his hood. King shit.
In 2008, T.I. turned his growing dispute with fellow Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo into one of the more personal diss records of the era. “What Up, What's Haapnin'” was released on September 2, 2008, as a single from his sixth studio album, Paper Trail. Produced by Drumma Boy, the track was rooted in a debate over neighborhood credibility, with Shawty Lo questioning T.I.'s claims to Bankhead, the Atlanta community both artists were associated with.
The dispute was bigger than ordinary lyrical competition. Shawty Lo had gained national attention with “Dey Know” and his D4L affiliation, while T.I. was already an established Southern rap star. The argument over who truly represented Bankhead became a public contest over local identity and authenticity.
I bet him and roth just text each other the nonsense they spent our money on
