You can believe the Bible and still allow the world to interpret the way you see Scripture.
Many sincere Christians have been sincerely deceived.
So many people are for all, against Jesus Christ.
Better to be against all for Christ than with all against Christ.
"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you" (John 15:18).
A church that defends doctrine but forgets devotion is halfway to death.
It is not enough to be clear about Christ. We must also be close to Christ.
"Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love" (Revelation 2:4).
Your feelings aren't your identity. In Christ you're a new creation (2 Cor 5:17), and that settles it.
In Pergamos, the sick slept on the floor of Asclepius' temple so snakes could slither over them and pass along his "healing."
Trust the science, y'all.
His rod and serpent is now the World Health Organization's emblem. Same demons, repackaged.
Revelation 2:13
The modern parallel of Balaamism is progressivism, where tolerance is disguised as truth.
The end result: "Love is love." License to sin.
Legalism on one end, liberalism on the other. Both put something in Christ's place.
Jesus' answer to a compromising church is a sword.
"Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth." Revelation 2:16
It is better to be under the scalpel than the spear.
Pergamos was politically powerful, home to a 200,000-scroll library, and the first city in Asia to build a temple for Caesar worship.
Once a year you burned incense and said "Caesar is Lord." Christians refused. Their anthem was Jesus is Lord.
The devil's strategy always modifies to the times.
In Smyrna, persecution only grew the church. So he stopped persecuting and joined the church.
If he can't destroy them from the outside in, he can certainly corrupt them from the inside out.
Jesus told one church exactly where Satan's throne was.
"I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is." Revelation 2:13
A thread on Pergamos, the church that got married to the world.
The only people standing in Revelation are those standing in Christ.
Not by your strength. Not by your merit. Not because you held it all together to get to church today.
You are standing in Christ because of Christ.
Everything God establishes in truth, Satan mirrors with deception.
Know the Word so well that you can spot a counterfeit that comes from hell.
Reputation without regeneration.
Jesus to Sardis: "You have a name that you are alive, but you are dead" (Revelation 3:1).
It is possible for a church to be admired by men and completely abandoned by Christ.
Lukewarmness is not laziness. It's worldliness.
Laodicea wasn't powerless. They had influence. They were preoccupied.
It's not a temperature problem. It's a treasure problem.
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21).
THE WHITE HOUSE INVITED ME. MY PAST KEPT ME OUT.
The invitation said I belonged. My criminal record said otherwise.
Seventeen years later, my past still had the power to close doors. Even doors I had been invited to walk through.
When Secret Service denied me entry to the White House, the familiar weight of shame came rushing back.
But God reminded me of something far greater:
“Your name and record may keep you from the White House, but because of My Son’s record, you have access to My house.”
MY RECORD STILL ECHOES ON EARTH. BUT BECAUSE OF CHRIST, IT NO LONGER ECHOES IN HEAVEN.
God’s grace is greater than my shame.
📖 Ephesians 2:18 | Romans 8:1
The church that makes Jesus sick.
Laodicea's water arrived lukewarm: tepid, chalky, bitter. You'd spit it out.
"Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth" (Revelation 3:16).
Alkmaar barred every Hapoel Be'er Sheva fan from Thursday's Europa League match.
Two years after Israelis were hunted through Amsterdam's streets, Europe's answer is: keep the Israelis home.
The nations still don't know what to do with Israel. God does.
Genesis 12:3
