Ashley Moody has been a Senator for about 5 minutes & is already drowning in a corruption scandal. A Florida grand jury found $10 million meant for poor kids’ healthcare got funneled through the governor’s pet charity into Republican politics instead, and found Moody knew the plan and authorized her deputy to sign off. As attorney general, she also investigated the sweetheart work-release deal that let Epstein leave jail sixteen hours a day, the same arrangement DOJ records show he used for abuse. She found no wrongdoing without ever issuing a search warrant, then cast the deciding vote to keep the Epstein files buried. This cycle she has cashed fifty thousand dollars from donors named in those files. Angie Nixon is scaring Moody and the extremists who back her. She beat an establishment-backed centrist while outspent 17 to 1, she out-raised Moody last quarter, and polls have this race inside two points. Chuck Schumer still won’t commit DSCC support three weeks out. If Chuck Schumer won’t help Angie win Florida, we will. Sign up for our phone bank for Angie Nixon, Tuesdays from 7-9pm ET. Join from anywhere, no experience needed. mobilize.us/angieforflorida/…

Mike Rogers became chair of the House Intelligence Committee on January 3, 2011. Seven months later, his wife Kristi Rogers’s firm Aegis won the security contract for the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, a deal later valued at $1.017 billion. Her own professional bio credited her with a two year pursuit of a five year, $10 billion State Department contract vehicle. Before his second marriage, Rogers’s financial disclosures show he had few assets and little wealth. According to those same disclosures, the couple’s reported investment income grew substantially in the years that followed, right alongside the federal contracts flowing to his wife’s company. Michigan voters don’t get their spouses billion dollar government contracts. Mike Rogers wants a promotion to the United States Senate. Before he gets one, Michigan deserves to know whose interests he was actually serving while he held one of the most powerful national security gavels in Congress. That’s why we endorsed Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate in Michigan. Early voting starts October 24 and runs through November 1. If you’re in Michigan, make a plan now and make sure you get out and vote.

Mike Rogers just told you who he really is. This leaked audio is the truth slipping out when he thought no one was listening. Voters in Michigan deserve a senator who says the same thing behind closed doors that they say on the campaign trail. That’s exactly what Abdul El-Sayed offers, and it’s exactly what Mike Rogers can’t.

Meta took down the No Kings organizing page today - the biggest day of protest this fall. They provided zero explanation. It stayed down for the entire afternoon until most of the protests were done. Outrageous. Put this on the January investigation list.

Every time you think Ken Paxton has hit rock bottom, he finds a new low. The Wall Street Journal got the video: New Year’s Eve, a Dubai balcony, fireworks over the Burj Khalifa, and the chief law enforcement officer of Texas canoodling with his mistress while his wife divorces him back home on biblical grounds. Standing right next to him were two American fugitives on the run from the Justice Department. Anosh Ahmed and Sameer Suhail are accused of embezzling $15 million from a Chicago hospital, and instead of facing a courtroom, they fled the country. Paxton flew out to ring in the new year with them anyway. Ahmed had already bought the friendship. He poured $190,000 into Paxton’s campaign accounts, including $25,000 that landed just days after his indictment. This is the man Donald Trump wants Texas to send to the U.S. Senate. Help us make sure every Texan knows the trust about Ken Paxton it before Election Day. Chip in to the Flippin’ Texas Senate Fund and help us finish the job. turnleft.link/paxton-is-corr…

Last year, a super PAC supporting Texas Senate hopeful Ken Paxton received a $250,000 donation from a man calling himself “Paul McLaren,” a supposed “entrepreneur” living in Plano, Texas. But there is no “Paul McLaren” residing in Plano, and the address listed on the campaign finance record is for a rented mailbox in a strip mall. The donor, it turns out, is a Texas businessman whose father was a well-known construction executive who received a pardon from President Donald Trump years after he pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return. Ben Pogue, who said he and his wife made the $250,000 donation to support Paxton, said the name wasn’t “an effort to conceal the source of the donation.”

Ashley Moody funneled $10M from poor kids’ healthcare into GOP politics. She buried the Epstein files and took $50K from donors in them. Angie Nixon is beating her anyway, inside 2 points, outspent 17-1. Schumer won’t help. We will. Phonebank Tuesdays 7-9pm ET. mobilize.us/angieforflorida/…

Amazon is building a 3,000-acre campus outside of Boling, about 10 miles southeast of Wharton. It says the complex will support at least 300 full-time jobs, with 150 becoming available by mid-2027. Construction will generate thousands of additional jobs. Between 10-13 data center buildings are being built on the complex. Each is equivalent to the size of a Walmart Superstore. Scarcity of water in rural farm communities is a key reason why so many rural Texas voters oppose data centers. Under Abbott’s tenure, Texas has surpassed Virginia with the most construction of data centers in the country, the Houston Business Journal reported. Neighboring county judges have raised the alarm about residents and county governments not having water rights, calling on the legislature to act. Texas water rights and water laws are like “the old west,” Bee County Judge George Morrill has said. County officials have also called on the legislature to grant counties zoning authority to regulate data center growth. Without it, county officials say because of private property rights their hands are tied in preventing data center expansion, The Center Square reported.

Texans do not agree on everything. But from the Panhandle to the Rio Grande Valley, they agree on this: they are sick of data centers draining their water, hogging their power, and bulldozing their towns. Ken Paxton sold Texas out to get his cut. He has taken more than $440,000 from the corporations building these facilities, and he has waved through every single project without a fight. Our Track the Machine investigation just found something bigger. Elon Musk's America PAC has poured $16.7 million into this Senate race. $13.59 million is attacking James Talarico. $3.17 million is propping up Paxton. That is not a campaign contribution. That is an investment, and Musk expects a return. James Talarico wants to make data center operators pay for the water they drain, the power they hog, and the towns they damage. Ken Paxton wants to keep cashing checks and keep the doors open. Our new ad lays out exactly what is at stake, and it needs to reach every Texan still deciding. Watch it, share it, and help us put it on more screens before Election Day. Our new ad lays out exactly what is at stake, and it needs to reach every Texan still deciding. A new poll from the University of Texas at Austin found Democrats with narrow leads in nearly every statewide race after trailing their Republican challengers in the same poll just two months ago — a sign of an increasingly competitive midterm election just days from early voting.  U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico and Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Vikki Goodwin each held 3-percentage-point leads over Republicans Ken Paxton and Dan Patrick, respectively. Nathan Johnson, Gina Hinojosa and Jon Rosenthal had 1-point leads in their races for attorney general, governor and Railroad Commission.

AIPAC money just showed up in Michigan’s Senate race. New campaign finance filings show AIPAC’s super PAC is spending again, this time on mailers attacking Abdul El-Sayed. The money landed just days after his first debate with Rogers. So next time a glossy attack mailer hits your mailbox, check who paid for it. This is what it looks like when outside groups try to decide Michigan’s election before voters do.

Taylor just got a power plant it didn’t ask for. After two hours of public comment from a packed room with an overflow crowd outside, nearly all of it in opposition to a new power plant and data center, the Taylor City Council unanimously voted yes. That means 664 acres of former farmland is now zoned for a power plant and data center, right next to people’s homes. HALT Taylor collected 1,400 signatures saying no, but the council didn't listen to their voices and voted yes anyway. This is what it looks like when money gets a seat at the table and neighbors don’t.

The top super PAC for Senate Republicans is canceling all the remaining ads it had booked in North Carolina as of Friday, shifting away tens of millions of dollars in a move that signals that Republicans no longer see a path to winning the state this fall. At the same time, the super PAC, called the Senate Leadership Fund, is making its first investment of the cycle in Kansas — a sign of rising concern among Republicans in red states — with a new ad attacking the Democratic nominee there. If Republicans lose North Carolina, it would give Democrats one of the four seats they need to flip the Senate in the fall.

BREAKING: Surveillance video shows an unmarked ICE vehicle running over Miguel Parra-Hernandez during a chase at a Houston shopping center. ICE claims he ran in front of the SUV, but the footage shows it veering through empty parking spaces to hit him. Then, an ICE agent moved the truck Parra-Hernandez fled into the shopping center and left in an unmarked vehicle before deputies arrived. Parra-Hernandez wasn't even their intended target. Now he's in the hospital with a broken leg. We must demand answers. Share this.

Democrats lead among likely voters in the Senate races in Texas and Alaska, two states that consistently vote Republican, the polls found. President Trump’s deep unpopularity, disapproval of the Iran war and frustration over high gas prices and the cost of living are reshaping the electoral landscape, the polls found. The Democrats have multiple paths to retake the Senate majority, despite a challenging map that had favored Republicans going into the midterms. To win Senate control, Democrats need to flip four Republican-held seats while holding on to their current seats in three battleground states, a difficult task. In Texas, James Talarico, a Democratic state representative, has opened up a six-percentage-point lead in the race against Ken Paxton, the scandal-plagued attorney general and Republican nominee who has been strongly supported by Mr. Trump.

They took your money and spent it on Trump propaganda. A federal judge just shut it down. Common Cause sued. A labor union sued. A candidate for Alabama state house sued. And a judge in New York sided with all of them, ordering the administration to kill the ads immediately, including the ones set to air that night. The ruling bars DHS from spending another cent of appropriated funds to produce, place, or air this propaganda. One of the ads was nearly identical to a 2024 Trump campaign ad. That is not public messaging. It is a taxpayer-funded political ad for a sitting president, with the midterms weeks away. There is no law that lets a president raid the federal budget to buy himself a better midterm. A judge just said so, in writing. Share this. People need to know how this administration is spending their money.
