🚨BREAKING NEWS : Your "deleted" photos aren't deleted.
Claude Code found years of them sitting in a hidden cache on my iPhone.
I plugged my iPhone into my MacBook to run a backup. I had Claude Code doing a security check at the same time. It flagged something I wasn't looking for. A directory called PhotoData/Thumbnails.
Thousands of files. Photos, videos, screenshots. A lot of them were things I had deleted.
Photos from a couple of years ago. Screenshots I took and deleted a few seconds later. Stuff I went into Recently Deleted and cleared. Some of it was still sitting there.
What I found in that cache:
- old screenshots of banking apps
- photos I deleted right after taking them
- random pictures I didn't want on my phone anymore
- a few things I specifically remember deleting more than once
When you delete a photo on iPhone, iOS removes it from your camera roll and Recently Deleted folder. But it keeps a compressed copy in a Spotlight search cache so your phone can still find things when you search. That cache doesn't get fully cleared.
I checked which apps had Files and Folders access. There were more than I expected, including apps I downloaded a long time ago and forgot about. Any of them could potentially read files from that cache.
I went through the list and removed access from most of them.
The prompt I used is below. It doesn't take long if you already have a backup.
How many apps on your phone have Files access right now?

The BBC is trying to make it so you have to pay the "TV license" to watch Youtube btw.
Absolute sham of an organisation. Can't survive on its own so has to become a leech. The TV license in itself is an absolute joke which should be abolished. Never mind paying it for Youtube.
📺 Big news! @BBCNews is now streaming live on YouTube in the UK and U.S.
YouTube is the home for high-quality, trusted news: in the first half of 2026 alone, viewers watched over 18 billion hours of news content on the platform. By using @YouTube's live tools, iconic broadcasters like the BBC can build deep, authentic rapport, bringing global communities together to learn, discuss, and follow history as it happens.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This comes as part of a wider move to expand the license fee charter. An upcoming government white paper will recommend Britons be forced to fund the BBC if they use YouTube, Netflix, Amazon or Disney Plus

They made it possible to play PlayStation 2 games straight from the disc (no dumping) on a jailbroken PS5 console🚀
This could’ve been an official feature
Sony could’ve given us that
But no, their greed and lies are above all considerations, and they made it so you either re-buy digitally or subscribe to PS+ to play from an abysmal selection, or be at the mercy of overpriced and censored/basterdized remakes and remasters💿
You put a PS2 disc into your PS5.
Seconds later, the game has its own tile on your PS5 home screen. It also doesn't show the "Unsupported disc" tile anymore!
No manual setup. Just pop in the disc and watch it appear.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is running straight off the disc, you dont have to dump, but you get the option if you want to. External drives are recommended!
PS5SX2 keeps getting closer to the real deal. 💿🎮
Huge thanks to our testers for helping make this happen! @ttmo @Sl1kz

For those who don’t get it, the narrative is simple.
Sony keeps pushing subscriptions while people still own their favourite PS2 PS3 PS4 games on disc. Now an open-source dev is giving them a way to play those games on PS5.
People want to play the games they grew up with without paying for them again. That’s why this is going so viral… it’s all over TikTok, and big gaming YouTubers are covering it too.
