I'm going to say this about Sophie Cunningham. She's going to want a multi year deal to sign with the fever. Similar to the contract lexi got. Her production does not equate to a multi year 5 figure deal. Add to the fact they payed lexi 800k and it would be stupid to resign her.
Cc returned from a season ending injure and averaged 22,4,8 a statline never before seen in the w. Not to mention she missed a couple games with another injure and was forced to play on a bs minutes restriction for 5 games bringing down her numbers, 25,10, 5 is coming soon. 😆

HERstoric x2 🤩
Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, a backcourt duo that stands alone in WNBA history 📄
Yes it was Caitlin's fault and not the fact that the front office overplayed a vet in Bonner who didn't even play 5 games with the team and then the next season payed 2 role players in Hull and Billings 800k a piece and they went on to not contribute lol. Please use your brains!

This puts into perspective the situation the wnba is in. Caitlin Clark is there only hope of reaching the mainstream. individual she has, she draws 2m+ a couple times season but it hasn't rubbed off on the w as a whole. That's what happens when you alienate your biggest fanbase.
This is honestly disappointing. While it's more than the previous year it's still incredibly low for a professional sport. The fever have 10+ regular season games with higher viewership. It just proves a vast majority of fans are only watching because of cc.

Well it’s very clear @TheAthletic / @nytimes knows which WNBA articles gets them the most clicks.
Oct 6: “Fever should part with Sophie Cunningham. She’s too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark”
Today: “The Indiana Fever want a championship. Is their reputation around the WNBA in the way?”
Meanwhile there’s a WNBA Finals happening with two teams not named the Indiana Fever 🤷🏼♀️
Perception vs. reality
The Indiana Fever's pursuit of a WNBA title hinges on the franchise's ability to confront where those two things converge and the environment created as a result.

Can't wait to watch @IowaWBB! I believe they have the personnel to make a deep run in March. Last year the only thing they were missing was a player who could just go out and get a bucket when the offense stalled. I believe they have got that with the addition of Dani carnegie.
For the fever to reach there full potential they need a front office that will go all in on the unique style of basketball Caitlin Clark plays. For example the golden state warriors and how they handled Stephen Curry. Before him there was nobody who played pg the way he did....
