One of the best parts of my job is seeing a young man like Kent State QB Dru DeShields battle back from some pretty significant injuries and adversity and FINALLY be healthy enough to compete and let it rip!
And he is absolutely ripping the ball right now 🔥🔥🔥

Welcome to Mrs. Penny DeShields who will join our team as the new Asst. Principal @FairlessHS. She brings experience in both education & athletics. She comes to us from West Branch where she served as a teacher, coach, & Asst Principal. Welcome to Falcon Country Mrs. DeShields!

Former West Branch Girls HC, Walt DeShields' statement. I hate that a great coach and person has to deal with this. The last paragraph is eye opening but so many know how true this can be in youth sports. @NE2K_Rich

Thank you to Coach Clark and Coach Makrinos for this opportunity. #LetsGoBobbyMo

Hey @WarriorsWB what’s the nonsense I’m hearing about board letting coach DeShields go? Ohio ‘24 winner of integrity/ethics award. Twelve 20+ win seasons n past 15 years. Owned the EBC, multiple trips to regionals/states. Sure hope this disturbing news is false. Shameful if true

Unbelievable incompetence has struck Ohio high school girls basketball as @WarriorsWB have let go one of the best coaches in the states history, one of the most respected, most liked coaches in the business, Walt DeShields. After I speak to Walt I will be putting out a statement in support, and I will encourage everyone to also show West Branch how badly they screwed this up. Keep an eye out.

Coaching is becoming harder and harder because parents can criticize a coach from the stands or online, but if a coach points out a player’s limitations, it results in a letter/meeting to the administration. Confident coaches, have the best administrators.

I’m hearing from several former players and sources out of West Branch that the school is not bringing back Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach Walt DeShields after 20 years.
DeShields went 20 years and did not have a losing season, Finishing at 378-119.

I just spoke with West Branch Girls Basketball head coach Walt DeShields, He tells me the news is accurate and he was told the school wants to move into a “ different direction “.
West Branch has informed their Head Girl’s Basketball Coach, Walt DeShields, that he will not be returning for the 2025-26 season.
