The amount of underserved legal needs in Texas is staggering. It would shock people (1) how expensive legal representation can be and (2) how many people can’t afford legal services. I hope #txlege takes note.

While recording a @texapplawpod episode with @jodyssanders and our guest @TylerTalbert today, the question came up about how decisions from the 15th Court of Appeals (a new statewide court sitting in Austin starting up September 1) should be cited. We already have an appellate court in Austin (the 3rd Court of Appeals) that's cited as "(Tex. App.—Austin [date], [history]."
With no claim of originality, my initial thought is "(Tex. App.—Austin [15th Dist.] [date], [history]," with the 3rd Court being cited "(Tex. App.—Austin [3rd Dist.] [date], [history]." This would track how we currently handle the 1st and 14th courts, both of which are in Houston.

Random tip from having done an oral argument this week - and having listening to a few recently.
(1) on rebuttal, it's really useful to say how many points you have.
(2) You should have 3 points if you can.
(3) You can prep "modules" for rebuttal."

By a 4-3 vote, the Colorado Supreme Court has held that former President Trump is *disqualified* from holding future office—and thus cannot be on the presidential ballot in Colorado:
