People ask me my opinions on GOAT discussions and I think my criterion and measurements for how I’d discuss them are different and I’d only like to do it when the careers are done. That and I don’t understand why we talk about those animals so much.

he's just so fucking cool
It's been a pleasure watching Yan figure out that the way to slow down an unslow-downable man is to leave craters in their liver and solar plexus

These three deserve better than the modern UFC. Incredible fighters
Honestly Volk, Yan and Van are the only current UFC champs keeping my faith alive at the moment. Rest of the divisions are pretty much all inactive champs, injured champs, interim/vacant titles, champs who keep talking about retiring etc.

I can't say I was scared by it and it's not my kind of game, but kudos to the devs of Thief Deadly Shadows for Shalebridge Cradle.
Game that scared you even though it's not marketed as a scary game?

As he closed range, Yan dipped and jabbed to the chest to let him step in on Dvalishvili while anticipating the reactive level change.
I was concerned live as to Yan not actively jabbing early. Then I caught this & it explained a lot, as well as why so many of his adjustments involved stepping in straight on punches. So, I do have to rescind some criticism of Yan here - this was a really tricky look by Merab.

Evloev slips inside Volk's jab and lands his lead hook Then in the next round, Volk draws out the inside slip, shuffles to his left, and blasts him with an overhand

Resident Evil 4 released on PS2 21 years ago today. The PS2 version brought Leon's fight against Los Illuminados to PlayStation, along with Ada Wong's Separate Ways campaign and new costumes. That village opening is still one of the most memorable parts of the game. GOATED

Highest recommendation since I saw it around 2017. One of the most mental, exchange-heavy firefights ever.
I get tired just from watching Jung-Koo Chang vs Katsuo Tokashiki; it's fought at a ridiculous pace. Everyone knows Chang but Katsuo was one the best fifteen round fighters I've seen; he could bring a high pace & volume, just drowning you. youtu.be/hNUAwNmctQc?is=9bkK…

These things go together. Reading something has you engage and think about it in one way whereas writing about it or topicals related to it will engage it from a different trajectory and ask new questions or reinforce your understanding of it. Doing them together is enriching.
Does reading a lot naturally improve writing ability ??

Just finished Paul Banke vs Daniel Zaragoza II. Words cannot describe the insanity I’ve just witnessed. This was less a fight than a war, with both men continually escalating the violence, pushing each other to unimaginable extremes. A brutal spectacle. youtu.be/AffpZxPjCS4?is=UBSc…

this fight is utterly stupid
15 years ago, Akira Yaegashi defeated Pornsawan Porpramook by TKO in round 10 of 12 to win the WBA minimumweight title. Arguably the greatest fight in 105lb history.

He can cut Merab off better in southpaw (Merab's jab isn't as great if he has to circle to his own and try to force that handfight battle between lead hands easier. I don't think he expected some of the reactive takedown setups though, which was another very clever read.
Replying to @TypewritingDA
Why would he fight so much of round 1 in southpaw?
