Today, we held our Culture & Diversity day @UCGSchool where we celebrated our wonderfully diverse and culturally rich school community. Students were able to attend school in their cultural attire and enjoyed a fair with food and drink at lunch-time!

Year 12 students had a fantastic time on their trip to Longridge Activity Centre this week! 🎉 They enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including dragon boating, archery and rock climbing. A great opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence and make memories!

Our Year 12 students visited the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) this week to learn more about the different career pathways into finance as well as having an opportunity to speak to professionals in the field!

Our Y7 students performed with The Dionysus Ensemble today, celebrating the music of William Herschel, and composing their own music too! Great to see a local scientist and musician being celebrated - one of our Houses is named after him!

This week @UCGSchool we celebrated Diwali through engaging assemblies that explored the festival’s history, meaning & traditions. We wish our school community a very happy Diwali in November filled with light, joy & togetherness!

We held our annual Learning Review Day @UCGSchool today, which was an opportunity for staff, students and families to come together and work in partnership to support students to thrive! Thank you to all involved and all families for taking the time to visit.

Our Y12 students commenced their volunteering reading programme at Ryvers Primary School. They will be supporting younger children develop important reading skills and a love of literacy. We’re proud of our students for making a positive contribution to our local community!

This week, we delivered assemblies ahead of World Mental Health Day (10th Oct) which explored belonging. We also introduced Anti-Bullying Week and its theme, Break the Silence, in preparation for the week in November.

Our Y12 & 13 A’ Level Physics students attended a virtual conference today featuring leading experts in the field of physics. Topics included optical physics and quantum imaging!

Over the past week we have celebrated European Day of Languages with a plethora of engaging cultural activities that highlight the value of language learning and the richness of linguistic diversity!

It was fantastic to welcome poet Karl Nova to @UCGSchool this week. Students took part in a series of workshops that encouraged creative expression, strengthened their poetry writing and highlighted the power of the spoken word! @AuthorsAbroad_

Our Year 8 students visited Bletchley Park this week to learn about it’s history and wider relevance to our own lives today. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Our Year 12 Product Design students visited Heatherwick Studios this week which enhanced student understanding of how design concepts are translated into real-world solutions!
