#Funfact: Volunteer firefighting is deeply rooted in American history. After America won its independence in 1776, firefighters began to be seen as a kind of urban folk hero. Thank you to the real-life heroes who keep their communities safe day in and day out.

With current, extremely dry conditions across most of the state, we urge all residents to avoid open burning. Even the slightest breeze can blow embers, cause widespread brush fires.
We thank you in advance!
We will have a donation area set up at this Saturday’s Open House!! Please consider bringing any of the items listed below to donate.
We cant wait to see you! 🚒🚑 #ucvolunteers

We are deeply saddened by the loss of life caused by Hurricane Helene and mourn the deaths of two Saluda County (SC) volunteer firefighters, whose apparatus was hit by a tree. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and all those impacted by the devastating storm.
