This operation exemplifies the commitment of our federal, state, and local partners working together under the Make DC Safe and Beautiful initiative. Gun‑running networks do not respect state lines, and neither does our determination to stop them. This joint effort shows how coordinated enforcement can protect both Washington, D.C. communities and the communities where these schemes originate.
Today, @USAttyPirro and @USAO_EDNC announced that ATF Agents arrested five individuals following a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of North Carolina returning indictments alleging their involvement in a firearms trafficking scheme.
This enforcement action was conducted in collaboration with the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force, a federal task force chaired by the Homeland Security Advisor, to curb violent crime, address narcotics and firearms offenses, enforce quality-of-life and transit rules, and support local and federal police agencies.

Two-year-old Mars deserved a mother who would fight for justice, not protect the man who beat her child to death. Instead, she misled investigators and deleted evidence to shield him from accountability.
If you obstruct justice to protect someone who kills a child, you will answer for it. No exceptions.
Monet Jones, 28, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty today for lying to the grand jury about the beating death of her 2-year-old child, Mars Jones, announced @USAttyPirro.

The era of unchecked violence in the District is over.
We are taking violent criminals off our streets, and our communities are safer because of it. District residents deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods, and we will never back down from that fight.
Those who terrorize our residents with guns and violence should know exactly where that road leads: federal prison. Rodriguez is headed where he belongs.
Christian Rodriguez, 21, of Hyattsville, Maryland, was sentenced yesterday to 84 months in federal prison for his role in a spree of armed carjackings, vehicle thefts, and thefts from vehicles committed across the metropolitan region between December 2023 and August 2024, announced @USAttyPirro.
My office is joining the @VP’s pledge to fight fraud and hold those responsible accountable.
Since I took office as U.S. Attorney, we have clawed back well over $1 billion dollars in fraud.
Americans will be protected. @WHFraudTF
Great meeting today with U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia Chris Anderson to align strategies on dismantling Chinese transnational criminal organizations that are scamming Americans out of their life savings.
Ashley Gause and her co-conspirators participated in an extended campaign of violence that caused terror without any regard for their victims.
They treated these pharmacies and cellphone stores as their own personal cash machines, garnering $300,000 in ill-gotten proceeds and prescription drugs, and leaving the store employees scarred for life.
Ashley Gause, 33, of the District of Columbia, was sentenced today to 140 months in federal prison for her role as a co-leader of a violent multi-state robbery crew that targeted more than a dozen pharmacies and cellphone stores in the District, Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey, announced @USAttyPirro.

Transnational fraud demands a transnational response.
I have partnered with the NCA and the Crown Prosecutor for England and Wales to push forward cases on both sides of the Atlantic; criminals are not hindered by borders and neither are we.
We will deploy our team wherever in the world transnational criminals target innocent victims.
Transnational criminal scam networks operating from West Africa suffered major disruptions last week during a coordinated international “Joint Disruption Week,” an effort that produced arrests, seizures, and the largest-ever takedown of fraudulent social media accounts linked to scam centers in the region, announced @USAttyPirro and @TheJusticeDept.

This case exposes a world where cruelty is currency, violence is entertainment, and children are treated as targets in a game of domination and control.
What Nepal and his co‑conspirators built was not just a criminal operation, it was a deliberate campaign to corrupt the vulnerable and dismantle the guardrails of civilized society.
Today’s plea is a victory for every child they sought to harm, and a warning to anyone who believes they can hide behind an encrypted screen: we will find you, and we will stop you.

I and members of my Scam Center Strike Force went to London to fight the scammers from Ghana.
With our partners at the @NCA_UK, @FBIDirectorKash, @FBI, @DOJCrimDiv we are annihilating those operations.
Since November, my Strike Force has seized nearly $1 BILLION in stolen cryptocurrency, thousands of computers and phones, and the websites and infrastructure these criminals use to steal from victims.
These scam compounds destroy lives and wipe out Americans’ hard-earned savings.
We are fighting like hell to shut them down, take their money, seize their infrastructure, and put them behind bars.
