“SNAP fraud despicably robs from low-income Americans that rely on the program for food assistance and diverts taxpayer funds to line the pockets of fraudsters and bankroll other criminal activities like guns and drugs that make American communities less safe. No more! USDA OIG is committed to support Vice President Vance’s leadership to disrupt fraud schemes and send criminals straight to prison. I am honored to stand with Vice President Vance today and grateful for our special agents whose work as part of this nationwide surge brought significant law enforcement actions against fraudsters in dozens of cases across the country. This surge is only the beginning. USDA OIG will continue to unite behind our partners in the whole-of-government fight to eliminate fraud and hold fraudsters to account,” said USDA Inspector General John Walk.

Proud to be working with @POTUS, @VP, @WHFraudTF, @AGToddBlanche, @DepSecVaden, @AFergusonFTC, and @OIGUSDA to put an end to this heinous abuse of taxpayer dollars.
We will not rest until all SNAP fraud is rooted out, and those responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Under the Trump Administration, food stamp fraud ends now.

Vice President JD Vance:
“We have way too much fraud in the SNAP program… we find that there are people out there who decide to commit fraud against these programs. Who quite literally in this case, will steal from the mouths of hungry children in order to enrich themselves. And that cannot go on and thanks to President Trump’s leadership, we are fighting and winning the war against fraud in the SNAP program.”

Under @POTUS' leadership, USDA is protecting taxpayer dollars and holding those who exploit the system accountable.
SNAP benefits are meant to feed vulnerable Americans, NOT line the pockets of fraudsters.
@OIGUSDA Inspector General John Walk, @DepSecVaden, and USDA are proud to stand alongside @VP in this fight.
If you steal from the American taxpayer, you WILL be brought to justice. 🇺🇸

Today, after years of inaction by the previous administration, @USDA_FNA is releasing a proposed rule to require States to issue chip enabled EBT cards, among other integrity measures. This complements the work of @USDA, @VP, @WHFraudTF, and @AFergusonFTC to stop fraud, waste, and abuse in food stamps. This will also prevent BILLIONS in stolen benefits. Vice President JD Vance on alleged fraudster Shawty Dred:
“This is a man that we have connected to $4.4 million in fraud against the SNAP program. A guy who is quite literally taking food from the mouths of children so that he can enrich himself… We have prosecuted this guy and prosecuted so many other fraudsters, and we’re going to keep on doing it. Because one of the most important lessons we can send is that you shouldn’t be able to, and you can’t get rich off of fraud. SNAP exists to help hungry children eat. It does not exist to provide private jets to a guy like Shawty Dred.”

Shawty Dred, SNAP is for feeding hungry Americans, NOT feeding your hustle. 💸🚫
The taxpayer-funded gravy train is OVER.
Thanks to @VP, @WHFraudTF, @DepSecVaden, @USDA_FNA and USDA OIG’s John Walk for helping put SNAP fraud on notice. 🇺🇸

NO FRAUDSTERS. NO ILLEGAL ALIENS.
@USDA has fought fraud since day one of the Trump Administration. Because SNAP benefits are for eligible Americans in need, NOT those looking to exploit the system.
Thanks to @DHSgov and @SecMullinDHS for their leadership to also preserve benefits for those in need. 🇺🇸

Honored to join @POTUS and @FLOTUS at the White House today as President Trump signed an Executive Order to advance women’s health at every stage of life. 🇺🇸
As Secretary of Agriculture, I know how important this mission is for rural America. Today, 70% of rural counties lack a hospital with labor and delivery services. Our mothers, daughters, and sisters deserve access to quality care, no matter their ZIP code.
From better care to more affordable food, President Trump is putting American families first.
As he said today, “The prices are coming way down!” 🥚🥬🧀🍎📉
His leadership is delivering progress for our farmers and the families they feed.

BACK IN THE U.S. - Manjit Singh Bedi, one of the FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters, arrested in September in India.
This marks yet another significant moment for the historic FBI’s Most Wanted Fraudsters program - Bedi is one of six Most Wanted Fraudsters captured since the creation of the new list three months ago – and yet another high value target captured overseas – in a group responsible for a combined over $2 billion in fraud and on the run for almost 4,000 days collectively prior to arrest.
He is charged with defrauding the U.S. of at least $600k in SNAP funds from approximately 2024 to 2025, and now will face justice for his alleged crimes.
Thank you to our outstanding partners for their assistance in this case.
