On May 2nd, a devastating structure fire engulfed the @USFCMS Marine Science Laboratory, destroying equipment, disrupting research, and displacing more than 125 people.
The damage was significant, but instead of stopping, a team of #USF oceanographers raced back out to sea, determined to keep critical hurricane forecasting systems running for the communities that depend on them.
Bold Research. Real Impact.

ALT Inside a boat's cabin, a person steers while looking out toward three individuals on the deck outside. These individuals are interacting with a small floating device on the ocean. The boat's control panel and steering wheel are visible in the foreground, with a clear view of the open sea through the cabin windows.
