Wilcox situation at Manchester United right now. Jason Wilcox is under heavy pressure from fans after another difficult period. But club sources (via BBC) continue to insist he is not currently in danger of losing his job. He has already survived the exits of Dan Ashworth and Ruben Amorim. If Carrick goes, the question of higher accountability will get louder especially around Wilcox and the summer recruitment. Right now though, there is no confirmation that Ratcliffe is preparing to move on Wilcox or Berrada. Pressure is real. The โ€œinevitableโ€ claims are still speculation. #MUFC

Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008 was the scariest prime in football in history. Today, heโ€™s been voted the GREATEST BALLON Dโ€™OR WINNER OF ALL TIME. ๐Ÿ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ| Thierry Henry on Cristiano Ronaldo winning the B.O.A.T award! (Best Ballon D'or of all time) โ€œLook, Iโ€™m not going to sit here and rate which Ballon dโ€™Or season is the greatest of all time โ€” thatโ€™s not how I see it, and itโ€™s not something I get involved in. Ranking awards years later like that doesnโ€™t interest meโ€ โ€œWhat happened in 2008 with Cristiano was special in its own right, but calling it the best ever is not a conversation Iโ€™m having.โ€ โ€œThat season at Manchester United, he was complete. Goals from everywhere, assists, carrying the team in the biggest moments, winning the league and the Champions League. You watched him and you felt the difference โ€” the pace, the power, the confidence, the way he could decide a game on his own. It gave people joy, no doubt. He was operating at a very high level and he deserved the recognition he got for what he produced that year.โ€ โ€œBut for me, one season, even a brilliant one, is still one season. What Iโ€™ve always respected about him is the longer picture: staying at that level for years, the obsession with being the best, the way he lived the game. Thatโ€™s harder than having one outstanding campaign.โ€ โ€œAwards are snapshots. They matter, but they donโ€™t define the full story of a player or settle arguments about whoโ€™s had the greatest season.โ€ โ€œI played in that era. I saw him up close enough. He was extraordinary, same as Leo was extraordinary. They pushed each other and they pushed the level of the game. Thatโ€™s what stays with me, not which trophy gets voted the greatest years later.โ€ โ€œRespect to Cristiano for what he did in 2008 and for how long he kept going after it. The rest is just rankings.โ€

๐Ÿšจ Mikel Arteta on his conversation with Max Dowman after his red card against Fleetwood Town: โ€œWhen Max was coming off, I could see he was upset. He had his head down, and I stopped him before he went into the tunnel. I asked him, โ€˜Max, what did we speak about before the game?โ€™ He didnโ€™t answer. I said, โ€˜Look at me. What did we speak about?โ€™ He said, โ€˜Not reacting to the tackles.โ€™ I told him, โ€˜Exactly. And what have you just done?โ€™ He was trying to explain what happened, that the player had caught him and he was frustrated. I told him I didnโ€™t want to hear it at that moment. He had to go inside, calm himself down and think about what had happened. I know people saw that conversation and thought I was being too hard on him. But I couldnโ€™t stand there and tell him everything was okay when heโ€™d just made a mistake that could cost his teammates the match. After the game, I went looking for him. He was sitting in the dressing room, still in his kit. Most of the boys were getting changed, but Max was sitting quietly, looking at the floor. I sat beside him and asked, โ€˜Have you spoken to your parents?โ€™ He shook his head. I said, โ€˜Why not?โ€™ He told me, โ€˜I donโ€™t know what to say to them.โ€™ That was the moment I realised how much it was affecting him. I told him, โ€˜Max, youโ€™re 16. Youโ€™re allowed to make mistakes. Youโ€™re not allowed to pretend they didnโ€™t happen, but youโ€™re allowed to make them.โ€™ He started apologising again. I said, โ€˜Stop apologising to me for a moment. Tell me what you learned.โ€™ He said, โ€˜That I canโ€™t react like that.โ€™ I asked him, โ€˜And if somebody makes the same tackle on you next week?โ€™ He said, โ€˜I get up and keep playing.โ€™ I told him, โ€˜Good. Thatโ€™s all I wanted to hear.โ€™ Then I asked him something else. โ€˜Max, do you know why I was so angry with you?โ€™ He said, โ€˜Because I got sent off.โ€™ I told him, โ€˜No. Because I know how good you can become, and I donโ€™t want you giving people reasons to take football away from you. Youโ€™re going to meet defenders who are stronger than you, older than you, and some who will spend 90 minutes trying to upset you. If they discover that all they need to do is make you angry, they will do it every single week.โ€™ He was listening properly now. I told him, โ€˜You cannot control what another player does to you. But you can control what you do next. Thatโ€™s what separates very good players from the ones who stay at the top.โ€™ Before I left, he asked me, โ€˜Are you still angry with me?โ€™ I said, โ€˜A little bit.โ€™ He finally smiled. Then I put my arm around him and told him, โ€˜But Iโ€™m still your manager tomorrow, Max. And youโ€™re still my player. One red card doesnโ€™t change that.โ€™ He asked whether heโ€™d be playing again. I said, โ€˜Of course. Once youโ€™re available. What did you think, I was going to send you back to school?โ€™ He laughed. And I told him, โ€˜Now call your parents. Theyโ€™ll be more worried about you than the red card.โ€™ Thatโ€™s the part people donโ€™t always see. Sometimes you have to be firm with these boys because the world is not going to be gentle with them. But you also have to remember theyโ€™re still boys. Max made a mistake. He knows that. My responsibility isnโ€™t just to make sure he never does it again. Itโ€™s to make sure he doesnโ€™t spend the next few days believing that one bad moment has changed what I think of him. Because it hasnโ€™t.โ€

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธDimitar Berbatov on Michael Carrick clearing the air with Bruno Fernandes โ€œSitting down to talk things through like this is the right thing to do. You cannot have that tension sitting between the manager and your most important player.โ€ โ€œBruno brings something the rest of the team simply does not have โ€” the vision to see the pass before it happens, the ability to create chances out of nothing, the technical quality to receive the ball under pressure and still make the right decision.โ€ โ€œHe scores goals, he assists, he controls the tempo when the game is tight. Without him fully focused and playing at his best, United are a much more limited sideโ€ โ€œOf course the manager has to make the calls he believes are best for the team, and no player is bigger than the club. But the next part is just as important: getting Bruno back involved, giving him the platform to influence games again, and making sure everyone is pulling in the same direction.โ€ โ€œHe understands the number 10 role better than almost anyone โ€” he watches the defensive line, he times his movements, he finds the spaces others miss. Those qualities have carried this team for years.โ€ โ€œIf these talks have genuinely drawn a line under the recent comments and the benching, and both men can move forward with the same aim, then it gives the whole group a better chance.โ€ โ€œThe results have been poor and the performances have lacked intensity at times, but getting your best player back to his level is one of the few things that can change the mood quickly. Bruno is still the one who can make the difference.โ€
