Top 5 ... No Sesko fam we might not get Europe
the longer we keep Carrick the more we are sabotaging ourselves at the prospect of finishing in the top 5 We need that European revenue we struggle to sell players as it is ffs

Don't know if I'd want him here because we always kill youth talent but from a pure fit perspective, Alex Freeman to United makes the most sense out of these options. Quite similar to Dalot but more capable of scoring goals and a really versatile athlete/defender.
ALEX FREEMAN ON TOTTENHAM’S RADAR 🇺🇸👀 Tottenham are reportedly tracking 22-year-old USMNT and Villarreal right back Alex Freeman as a potential long-term replacement for Pedro Porro. Spurs have been particularly impressed by his progress in Spain, with Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly interested in bringing Porro back to La Liga. Tottenham aren’t the only ones watching: ▫️ Manchester United scouts have reportedly checked on Freeman in recent weeks. ▫️ City Football Group, Manchester City’s parent organization, has been monitoring his development. ▫️ BlueCo, the ownership group behind Chelsea, has also been keeping tabs. Freeman’s form in Spain is getting noticed. What a talent 🇺🇸📈 [TEAMtalk]

Unfortunately I would agree in theory but the problem is simple: Zirkzee is absolutely shit: completely useless waste of space on the pitch and one of the worst players to have ever wore the shirt
Carrick won’t do this but just play Zirkzee, at least he will act as a reference point it means either Mbeumo or Amad have to compete and gives an extra option off the bench in one of those two.

The highest-graded players in the Premier League this season, using our Overall Grade methodology. This is not a match rating, it is a piece of data science, manually grading the execution of every event on a scale from -2 to +2, with positional weights applied to ensure the grade reflects what matters most for each role. 📊

Surround good players with shit ones and eventually something's gotta give
Bruno’s comments were wrong but clearly stemmed from frustration over a lack of ambition. He knows that most of his teammates aren’t suited to high pressing but is clearly annoyed at the level of respect we are giving other teams. I do really hope his mindset changes though… he doesn’t deserve his time here to be viewed different because he was fed up at the very end. Even if he leaves in January or end of the season, hopefully he’ll fix up until then

The problem for Lacey is this is true, but if a player needs 10/10 technical execution to get past their natural physical limits it generally means they won't be able to be a consistent difference maker at this level.

Silky technician and strong ball striker but doubt either of those skills are special ENOUGH to make up for the fact that he's probably a 6/10 athlete at best for a PL FW on a team that's already super athletically deficient.

No surprise tbh, Rashford has great technical skill when he's NOT running. Unfortunately for him and United, never became able to maintain his decision making quality when on the run despite having a strong technical level
Look at Tielemans who’s supposed to be Bruno’s replacement 😭Marcus Rashford has a better ball control than him. We’re cooked

Depends since it's such a broad term but I think most people use it to describe technical elegance first and foremost So smooth touch/turns, dribbling etc without factoring in intensity, build or off ball stuff

Would be very interesting to see what United's athleticism score was last year to see the change between how much of this has changed between the 2 seasons, as it certainly feels like one of the key reasons for United's downturn in performances.
Manchester United rank 20th in the Premier League for our Athleticism Score this season, with the squad profile split in two. Their wingers and most of their full-backs score highly, but down the spine their athleticism drops sharply. Athleticism Score compares each player’s physical output per 90 with others in the same position, on a 0 to 100 scale, so 50 is average for the role. That squad makeup may shape how Carrick sets up. A slower centre-back pairing makes a high line risky, and a less mobile midfield makes sustained pressing harder. It shows in the physical data. Total distance doesn’t predict results, but United’s intensity in the Premier League is low: they rank 18th for high-speed running distance, 16th for sprinting distance and 20th for average max speed. #MUFC

Wow not his biggest fan but that's absolutely top from Godts. Picture perfect setup for the 1v1 and wicked finish

This is true for youth scaling in general, especially for non FWs. Many of the best prospects in other positions refine their game or are shifted positionally, so can take longer to shine as stars, especially taller ones.
He is probably a top five player in the USMNT pool now. If he keeps this up he will be at one of the big, big clubs — probably by next summer. He never made a USYNT World Cup. He was never even in the mix. An example of why you bet on the profile and hope the rest of it comes.

Hilarious that we're so bad people are running Ederson revision, that brother STINKS
Current Squad Build out is a bit tragic LW: SS who doesn't move off the ball (Cunha) / Washed guy who can't run for 90 minutes (Rashy) ST: Top 9 who is fit once every 3 months (Sesko) / Pretty good off ball 9 with zero on ball game at ST and severly angle limited (Mboom)

This is like a squad you see on a big teams FM on a save 5 seasons down the line & think, what the fuck happened here 🤣 Actually depressing man, we’d need a class of 92 to spawn in to become competitive anytime soon The cheek of them to believe we’ll challenge for the league next season, they don’t have a clue

Definitely true and a big part of the drop off. However the most critical is obviously the huge fitness issues which combined with the injuries and absences of our top quality players are only exposing our middling OOP play even more, making us both easy to attack and defend.
This is from an article I wrote in September 16th so the numbers won't be up to date but at that time, since Carrick had taken over, 56% of United's opening goals had come from corners, free-kicks or penalties, and 28% were from Casemiro's headers. From one of the best to one of the worst at set-pieces in the league, which was the source of the majority of their opening goals, and it's an easier explanation for their form that people are missing.

The usual issue with idea ball and not prioritizing either top tier defensive/ athletic profiles
Barca will still win the league as they’re gonna fry the lesser quality sides but UCL wise can’t see how they survive in defensive transition against the other top 5 teams

What the squad needs LW: Strong 1v1 fundamentals, ideally creative aswell (Nusa???) RW: Strong 1v1 fundamentals, ideally creative aswell (no clue) 9: Duel winner, stays fit and consistent bagsman (???) CM: Someone who can run CB: Someone who can run FB: Depends on new coach

Football isn’t even real you know. There's no need to be heated. I am actually alive in a warm house right now. Alhamdulilah. I can go eat food with my family or book a vacation to get away from all this nonsense.

The reality is since Ineptos come in, they've had at most ONE 7/10 window (Summer 25) which is an absolute disgrace considering what they promised.
