As another academic year comes to an end, we'd like to thank our amazing INTERNS!! They filled in their doctor shoes splendidly and will go on to do bigger and better things next year. So proud of each of you. 🚀
Allegedly, he just happened to be walking by and suddenly needed ‘a closer look.’ We see you, chief. 🐴👀 – at Toledo, OH
It's a match! Congratulations to our rising chief, Dr.
Armelle DeRiso, for her Vascular Surgery Fellowship match to The Ohio State University!! @OhioStateSurg #VascularSurgery
From day one, our residents train with purpose. Here, a PGY-4 guides a PGY-1 through central line placement - one example of the early hands-on experience, close mentorship, and strong procedural training that define our program.
Our Attending, @kerri_simo, and PGY-2, Yasser Abusabha MD, attended the @AHPBA this past weekend
Dr. Simo was an invited lecturer on management of simple hepatic cysts.
Dr. Abusabha presented an interesting case on intrahepatic biliary IPMN with malignant transformation.
It was a pleasure to host Dr. Megumi Asai, a colorectal surgeon, from @HenryFordHealth for Grand Rounds today. We learned tons from her insights during M&M and our post-conference table discussions.
Happy Match Week to all the 4th year medical students! #Match2026 #Surgery
Led by our Jobst/UTMC Vascular attendings, our residents were able to successfully simulate carotid exposure with endarterectomy and femoral artery plus popliteal artery cutdowns on cadavers.
We are so thankful for such high fidelity training 🫶🏻
Check out our junior resident’s newest publication!!
Excited to share our paper on timing of PVR in patients with Tetralogy of Fallot and what we think really matters @UChicagoCTSurg @JCardSurg
