ALT A square image with a quote in the middle. The background image are the white edges of pages from an open book for set against a plain white backdrop. The open book pages are splayed along the right-hand side of the square. This image is slightly blurred. Over it and centered in the middle, there is a quote that reads, "When we are only looking at or trying to distill what we see for the objective, we’re losing a part of the sentences that we use to construct our realities.” At the top fo the image, in slightly smaller, thicker black font that is also centered is the text naming series, which says, "Literature, Language, Culture: A Dialogue Series." In the upper left corner is a large purple "W" over black font that reads "Department of English." This is the logo for department. Along the bottom there is a thin black dividing line above text that attributes the quote to Dr. Michelle Liu, Associate Director of Writing & Senior Lecturer.
