Whenever I see “yield” attached to a token, my first thought is usually where is that money actually coming from? That was the part of @Oly_Dao I wanted to look into OLY points to activity already happening onchain, ETH staking through Lido, Uniswap liquidity fees and trading taxes. So there’s something behind the model besides simply printing more tokens Of course, none of that removes the risks. It just makes the revenue side easier to understand OLY is also using the same idea in tokenized asset markets on Robinhood Chain. Still watching how that develops, but at least the right question is being asked Website: oly.io

BNB Chain is getting ready to launch a new L1, and I don’t think the timing is random. The updated official docs say the new network will run alongside BSC, not replace it. BSC will keep running its existing DeFi and app ecosystem, while the new L1 is being built for use cases where speed and low latency matter more, especially on-chain trading. The performance targets are pretty clear: 200ms block times, around 20ms transaction pre-confirmations and sub-second transaction ordering. The network is still in development, so these are targets for now. We’ll have to wait until it’s live to see how it actually performs. Another thing that matters is how the new network will fit into the existing ecosystem and what asset it will use. There won’t be a separate token. BNB will still be used for gas, staking and governance, and a native bridge between the two networks is also planned. This could give BNB more use cases beyond the existing BSC ecosystem if the new network attracts more trading, payments and financial applications. But more utility doesn’t automatically mean a higher token price. What matters is whether the network can bring in real activity. I think one of the main reasons for this move is the growth of on-chain trading, especially Perp DEXs. Platforms like Hyperliquid, Lighter and Aster have shown that decentralized trading is no longer just a backup option for people who mainly use centralized exchanges. Recently, daily trading volume across on-chain Perp DEXs has reportedly come close to a third of Binance Futures volume. Points and reward incentives may account for some of that activity, but the growth in on-chain derivatives is hard to ignore. As more platforms compete in this space, transaction speed, execution quality and infrastructure matter more. That’s exactly where the new L1’s performance targets come into the picture. The testnet is targeted for late 2026, with mainnet planned for early 2027. With the testnet getting closer, I’m not just looking at the technical specs. I want to see which projects start building on the network from day one. I’ll also be watching for new protocols, different use cases and early ecosystem opportunities once the testnet opens. The projects that manage to attract real users and generate actual trading volume will tell us more about the network’s potential than the specs alone. If #BNBChain can bring real activity to the new network without weakening the existing BSC ecosystem, it could open up another path for growth. And BNB is set to remain at the center of both networks. For now, I’m less focused on what this might mean for the BNB price and more interested in which protocols arrive first and how much real activity they can bring.

We trade crypto around the clock, so why not explore traditional markets through DeFi too? @Swisscheese_fn is bringing tokenized stock trading into the crypto ecosystem, giving users another way to access traditional markets. - $SWCH is tradable on MEXC and Gate. - What matters: liquidity, easy access, and a product people actually use. They've also got swaps, staking and copy trading. I’ll be watching how SwissCheese develops as tokenized assets continue to gain traction.

Why would a DeFi protocol open a bank? That question sent me down the @Oly_Dao rabbit hole. OLY already brings several parts of Ethereum DeFi under one token, from ETH staking to liquidity provision. Now it wants to take that model further on Robinhood Chain, where tokenized stocks like Nvidia and Tesla need deeper onchain liquidity. The next step is the Bank of OLY. It’s an onchain DeFi protocol, not a licensed bank and it will have just 1,000 Banking Charters. Each Charter is an NFT that makes its holder a Banker, using the same OLY token rather than introducing another one. Still plenty we don’t know yet but the “1,000 seats” part definitely got my attention. Something is coming. Website: oly.io

A World of Digital Nations. This is how I see crypto and how I've explained it to friends and family for years. I finally decided to bring that perspective to life in a video to help others better understand the crypto ecosystem, how it all fits together, and where OLY fits into this new digital world. Enjoy!

Predicting market direction and being ready for different market conditions are two different things. Most crypto discussions come down to whether prices are going up or down. But to me, getting the direction right isn’t enough on its own. The risks you take based on that view matter too, especially when the market doesn’t move the way you expected. For example, you might be right about prices going higher, but that doesn’t mean your trade will work out. If your whole portfolio is built around one scenario, bad timing, liquidity needs or taking on too much size can still put you in a tough spot. Calling the direction right and actually making money from the move aren’t the same thing. I see rising demand for downside protection in the options market in a similar way. It doesn’t automatically mean prices are going lower. It can simply mean some investors are willing to pay for protection while things remain uncertain. Spot volume, futures positioning and funding rates each tell us something different about the market, but none of them can tell us on their own where price is headed next. That’s why I think it’s worth looking beyond price targets and bullish or bearish calls. It also matters to think about what would make your view wrong. Portfolio allocation, liquidity, position size and the cost of hedging all affect how much room you have when the market goes against your expectations. For me, good risk management isn’t about getting every move right. It’s about making sure one bad call doesn’t mess up the whole plan. Sometimes, reading the market correctly matters just as much as how much risk you take trying to get it right.

Crypto regulation is moving beyond the rules on paper. For companies working with stablecoins, the real work is making sure these requirements fit into their daily operations without driving up costs or making compliance harder than it needs to be. On October 21, the OCC published its final rule for implementing the GENIUS Act, which takes effect on January 18, 2027. That gives affected institutions time to prepare for the new requirements around payment stablecoins, including the work needed to keep their operations in line with the rules. For issuers and certain custodians under OCC oversight, that means tracking reserve assets, handling redemptions, keeping accurate records and providing evidence when regulators check their work. Knowing what the rules say is one thing, but putting each requirement into practice is where the day-to-day workload comes in. If these tasks are handled manually, costs can rise and mistakes become more likely. Automation can help with reconciliation, monitoring and reporting, but companies still need to trace where their data comes from, identify which checks have been carried out and explain how decisions were made. Getting those processes right could give some companies an edge. Institutions that meet the same requirements with less manual work, fewer errors and audit records ready when needed may spend less time and money on compliance. Better technology can help achieve that, provided companies can also show that their controls work in practice. That’s why legal teams can’t manage this alone. Compliance, technology, risk and operations need to work together so everyone knows where the data comes from, which checks need to be done and who is responsible for each part of the process. For users, better compliance could mean more reliable stablecoin payments and wider access as more financial institutions adopt them.

$ENA has had a big tokenomics change, with the monthly investor unlocks now out of the way. October 5 was the final date for @ethena monthly investor unlocks, and the remaining investor allocation was released all at once. The Foundation also bought locked tokens from several early investors through OTC deals, which means less of that supply could end up hitting the market later. Under the approved fee switch, 95% of the relevant net revenue received by the Foundation will go toward $ENA buybacks once USDe supply reaches $7.5B. USDe is currently around $4.6B, so it needs to grow by roughly 63% to reach that level. With the monthly unlocks out of the way, USDe growth is the next thing I’m watching. If supply keeps expanding toward $7.5B, the buybacks could add another source of demand for $ENA.

Crypto already has plenty of blockspace. The missing piece is reliable on-chain data that lets capital actually be used. That’s what @FlareNetworks is building around. FTSO provides asset prices, FDC verifies data from external sources, and FAssets uses that data to bring assets like XRP into DeFi. Confidential Compute adds verifiable results from private data, while Smart Accounts connect users to the rest of the system. FXRP is already seeing activity in DeFi. Around 129M FXRP has been deployed, and 95% of that activity reportedly remained after incentives ended. So the activity hasn’t dropped off much since those rewards stopped, which gives a better idea of what users are sticking around for. And XRP is only one part of it. The same infrastructure could also work with Bitcoin, institutional reserves and other financial assets, opening up more ways to use external assets and data on-chain. For me, Flare’s approach is about bringing asset prices, verified external data and DeFi into the same system, with FXRP already showing how these pieces work together.

"Public prices first, then verified external events, then assets from other chains, and finally private data. Smart Accounts close the loop by connecting that stack to the people who hold the assets. Each Flare product builds on the layers beneath it, which is why the suite is best read as a single architecture" - Flare stack explained by @defillama_res

JPMorgan has put out a long-term return forecast for Bitcoin, estimating that BTC could outperform traditional assets over the next 10–15 years. The firm projects an annual return of 10% for Bitcoin over that period. For comparison, its estimates are 7.5% for US large-cap stocks, 7.7% for US small-cap stocks, 5.6%–6.6% for US bonds, and 5.5% for gold. JPMorgan also gives three possible scenarios for BTC: Bull case → 17% annual return Base case → 10% annual return Bear case → -9.7% annual return Even in the base case, Bitcoin comes out ahead of the other assets on that list. Of course, these are long-term estimates, not guaranteed returns. A lot can change over 10–15 years, and the actual results will depend on how the market develops. The risk is still a big part of the picture. Bitcoin can make sharp moves, and its correlation with other assets changes over time. That makes it harder to decide how much weight BTC should have in a traditional portfolio. For me, the interesting part is that JPMorgan is projecting higher long-term returns for Bitcoin than for stocks, bonds, and gold, even with BTC’s volatility remaining a major concern. A higher expected return comes with risks that can’t be ignored, so the forecast alone doesn’t mean BTC belongs in every portfolio. Do you think Bitcoin can deliver a 10% annual return over the next decade and outperform stocks, bonds, and gold?

RWA tokenization keeps growing, and the networks attracting these assets are becoming more important. Looking at the RWA numbers, Ethereum still has a big lead over the rest, but the last 30 days show that not every network is growing at the same pace. Ethereum leads in distributed RWA value with $16.7B. BNB Chain has $6.1B, while Solana sits at $4.4B. Ethereum alone holds 42.94% of the market. BNB Chain and Solana have $10.5B combined, which is still well below Ethereum’s $16.7B. The gap is pretty clear when you put those numbers side by side. The 30-day changes show a different side of the market. Stellar is up 6.74% and BNB Chain has grown 5.47%. Ethereum is also up 0.52%, while Solana is down 2.69% over the same period. So Ethereum is still leading and adding value, but BNB Chain and Stellar have grown at a faster pace over the past month. I think both numbers matter here. Ethereum’s $16.7B in RWA value shows how much of the market it holds today, while the latest figures for BNB Chain and Stellar show that other networks can grow faster over the same period. Ethereum is still well ahead in total value, but the gap alone doesn’t tell us how the market is changing. I’d look at both the value each network holds and how those numbers move over time to get a better read on RWA growth.

Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade is now live on mainnet, with a new consensus mechanism built by @anza_xyz. The target is to bring transaction finality down from around 12.8 seconds to roughly 150ms. That’s a huge difference, and if Solana gets there, transactions could reach finality almost instantly compared to before. For me, this could be a very important step for Solana . Cutting finality that much would be a major change for the network and what it can offer to users and developers.

$BTC | My Symmetry $BTC is back at $84,800 after reclaiming the $80K–$82K zone. That zone was resistance before the breakout, and now buyers are defending it as support. BTC dipped below $80K, swept the stops and got back above the zone. Today’s green candle pushed price higher again. The level I’m watching now is $87,275. BTC has been rejected there twice, so it won’t be an easy break. But if buyers finally push through and we get a daily close above it, $94,700 is the next target on my chart. If $87K rejects price again and BTC closes below the grey zone, I’ll be watching $74,800. If that level gives way too, $70,600 is next. I’m not looking to long BTC right in the middle of this range. Let it show its hand first, either with a break above $87,275 or a retest of the grey zone.

Quantum security may not be on everyone's mind in crypto right now, but it's something the industry needs to prepare for before it becomes a real problem. @Americanfort_io has joined the Quantum Alliance alongside 8 other blockchain organizations to help establish open standards for post-quantum security. One thing that makes this challenging is that crypto already has plenty of assets sitting in wallets that may not be easy to protect if quantum computing eventually breaks today's cryptography. Dormant wallets are a particular concern, especially when public keys have been exposed or the owner can no longer access the funds. Transaction authorization adds another layer to the problem. Simply telling people to move their crypto to new addresses won't work for everyone, and getting different networks to support that change won't be straightforward either. AmericanFortress has put forward its Zero-Knowledge Proofs of Seed Provenance (ZK-PoSP) scheme as a possible way to address some of these difficulties. It is designed to support quantum-resistant transaction authorization while keeping existing wallet addresses, meaning users wouldn't have to move their funds to new ones. That would be useful if the scheme can deliver on its goal, particularly for assets that can't easily be moved. For now, though, it remains a proposal. Independent validation and practical testing are needed before its security can be established. The Quantum Alliance brings 9 blockchain organizations together around open standards, which makes sense given how many parts of crypto this affects. Wallets, protocols, cryptographic standards and cross-chain infrastructure all have to be considered, and getting them to work together won't happen overnight. I'll be watching how ZK-PoSP develops and what independent testing turns up. The idea is interesting, but I'd want to see it hold up in practice before drawing any conclusions. With so many older wallets and funds that may be difficult to move, it's worth working on quantum security now rather than scrambling to find answers when the threat gets closer.

GRVT has completed its first buyback, purchasing 1.1M $GRVT on the open market and permanently burning the tokens, close to 1% of circulating supply. There are four major launches ahead, starting with Grvt Earn at the end of October, followed by Stable Funding Perps and Yield as Margin in November. GRVT 2.0 is targeting November 30, with the goal of bringing trading, earning and investing together in one self custodial app. Yield as Margin is the one I’m most curious about. Eligible Earn positions could generate yield while also serving as trading margin, meaning funds wouldn't have to sit idle while waiting for a trade. Future buybacks are planned monthly, though each round remains discretionary. GRVT will publish the details on its public dashboard alongside onchain transaction hashes. The buyback is already done. Now I want to see these products go live, especially Yield as Margin, and find out how well the whole setup works once people start using it.

USDC has reached an important milestone in Europe. The European Banking Authority (EBA) has classified USDC as a “significant” e-money token under the EU’s MiCA framework. According to The Block, from November 12, the EBA will directly oversee USDC’s reserves, liquidity, own funds, and recovery and redemption plans. France’s ACPR will keep responsibility for other areas of supervision. I think this matters because USDC is growing, but so are the responsibilities that come with it. Having enough reserves is only part of the picture. A stablecoin also needs to handle redemptions when demand suddenly picks up. That’s where closer oversight could make a difference. This could also influence how stablecoins compete in Europe. Exchange listings and adoption still count, but institutions may look more closely at the rules an issuer operates under before choosing which stablecoin to use. USDC’s new classification could give regulatory oversight more weight, although it doesn’t mean every stablecoin is subject to the same rules. This decision applies specifically to USDC’s status in the EU. For me, the bigger takeaway is that stablecoin adoption in Europe won’t depend on demand alone. How issuers manage their reserves, liquidity and redemptions could also play a bigger role in determining which stablecoins institutions choose.
