This week, we've held impactful Climate Activist engagements with stakeholders & programme participants in Kamwenge, Kabarole and Gulu districts. Participants received kits to support them in protecting their environment and championing sustainable practices in their communities.
We are grateful to our partners, the Office of the Prime Minister, UNHCR, COHERE, AFID, ARK Network, AVDA, Ministry of Water & Environment, and local leaders, for their continued support to building a greener, more resilient future for our communities.

A productive two days at SOS Children's Villages Gulu where we are hosting five Board Trustees led by our Board Chair, Peter Musinguzi Kabaseke. Through meaningful discussions and a symbolic tree-planting exercise, we are reaffirming our commitment to sustainable development.
More than 700,000 young Ugandans enter the labour market annually, but only a fraction secure formal employment opportunities. When young people are equipped with practical skills and mentorship, they secure livelihoods, become innovators and leaders in their communities.
Through youth empowerment programmes, SOS Children’s Villages supports young people with employability, entrepreneurship, vocational training, mentorship, and life skills to help them transition into self-reliant adulthood. #YouthEmpowerment #YouthCan!
The federation’s YouthCan! initiative operates in more than 60 countries worldwide, connecting young people with skills, mentors, and employment opportunities. To learn more about YouthCan!, visit: sos-childrensvillages.org/yo…

Government extends its deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones, the King David Junior School community, and everyone affected by the tragic school bus accident in Kapchorwa.
Support has been mobilised for the injured, survivors, and bereaved families, while Government continues to coordinate emergency response efforts with relevant authorities.
As an immediate safety measure, all school trips and tours involving road travel have been suspended until further notice. Government is also implementing enhanced school transport safety measures to strengthen vehicle inspections, enforce compliance, and safeguard the lives of learners.
We call upon all Ugandans to keep the affected families in their thoughts and prayers as we work together to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Every child needs someone who believes in them. Today, we celebrate the men who parent, mentor, teach or are simply present. Your positive influence helps shape brighter futures for children and young people.
Happy Father’s Day!

100 hours seemed impossible.
But for a fight above oneself it feels worth it.
With every step filled with pain I felt the connection more with Mother Earth.
Thank you 🌍

I am in #Uganda, where the government has mounted a prompt and capable response to the outbreak of #Ebola.
Screening at the borders helped detect cases arriving from neighbouring #DRC, and the country’s surveillance, testing and case management systems are doing steady work. Of the 19 confirmed cases so far, 14 were among people who entered from DRC and five are Ugandan nationals. Sadly, two people from DRC have died, and our thoughts are with their families.
@WHO is supporting Uganda, alongside @AfricaCDC and partners across the region, as the country leads this response.
With continued collaboration, I am confident this outbreak can be brought under control.
Voices from the Children’s Advocacy Camp continue to highlight the importance of inclusive child rights programming. Boys called for greater inclusion in advocacy efforts, emphasizing the need to address their mental health and protection concerns alongside efforts for girls.
These perspectives reinforce the need for balanced, inclusive approaches that ensure no child is left behind. #ChildProtection #Inclusion #YouthEngagement #MentalHealth #NoChildAlone
