I was pleased to meet with Foreign Minister @AdoniaAyebare and follow up our far-reaching conversation at #UNGA81.
I am grateful for his leadership in coordinating my engagements around our support for deepening Commonwealth values for the benefit of the Ugandan people.
Uganda's commitment to an impactful #CHOGM2026, through sharing ideas for reform and submitting bankable projects continues its record of support for the Commonwealth agenda.

I received the Commonwealth Secretary General, Ms. Shirley Botchwey, this afternoon at Entebbe.
We discussed the need for Africans to unite around our common economic interests through the African Continental Free Trade Area and to trade with partners of our choice, rather than continuing to organise ourselves along colonial lines.
We also discussed a climate fund to support alternative energy sources such as solar, hydro and nuclear, as well as a youth aspirations fund to equip Africa’s young people with the skills they need. These are the issues we must address if Africa is to transform its enormous potential into prosperity.

Our discussions on ways to deepen resilience and shared prosperity across the Commonwealth through trade and investment and higher climate ambition would benefit our 2.7 billion population.
We reaffirmed support for Commonwealth values, which are central to this agenda.

During the 81st @UN General Assembly High-Level Week in New York, the @RooseveltTrail was announced as the very first deal in the @USUN / @StateDept 's Trade Over Aid Deals Library, an indicative $1.2 billion investment pipeline for Uganda.
This initiative turns our shared U.S-East Africa heritage into concrete opportunities in tourism, agricultural value addition (especially coffee), infrastructure, technology, and job creation.
Massive thanks to Ambassador Dan Negrea and the U.S. leadership at the @USUN , for placing Uganda at the forefront of this new approach.
