This might be the dumbest post I've seen on Twitter this weekend. (regarding CFB -- no warranties expressed or implied on the rest of Twitter).
Just a three minute look at @TexasTechFB under Coach McGuire shows:
1) He's won 8+ games every season since being hired. In the 15 years prior Tech's win totals ranged from 4 to 7 games.
2) He's had a winning Big 12 record every year since he took over (including the last two years Oklahoma and Texas were in the league).
Prior to his arrival in 2022, Tech hadn't had a winning Big 12 conference record since 2009.
3) High School recruiting at Tech has improved from #48 when McGuire took over to #10 currently. That improvement has been incremental each year (43, 25, 18, 10).
Tech's last Top 25 class came under Tommy Tuberville in 2010, and prior to that they had two Top 25 classes under Mike Leach.
So in four years McGuire has had more Top 25 classes than the last 25 years combined. And that would probably go back to 50 years if I had time to do that much research.
There's no doubt that the NIL era has helped Tech, as they have more resources than any other Big 12 program and most of the P4, including most in the SEC and Big Ten.
But the improvements in record and recruiting came before NIL and Cody Campbell's donations started.
The grass is always greener with fans, and these asinine "fire the coach!" posts are also coming from fan bases at Georgia, Alabama, and every other school that has suffered an upset loss.
That's why fans aren't in charge of hiring and firing. If they were every school would be looking for a new coach every season.

Still the greatest goal-line stand in Baylor football history. Dave Aranda may not have lived up to every expectation, but he gave Baylor memories and moments that will last forever. He did a lot of good in Waco, and that deserves to be remembered.๐ป๐

Jeremy: "You're a drama queen ... I f***in' love it. I f***in' love it man."
Arch: "Let's go baby! ... How you doing?"
Jeremy: "I'm doing great man ... way to f***in' stay the course man."
Arch: "Stay the course, that's what it's all about baby. I started watching Entourage again ... I'll text you."

Pretty cool to see him channel a little of his Uncle Peyton on that last rushing touchdown! Congrats to Arch on a HUGE win! ๐๐
