Autozone workers won their Union today with @UAWRegion9A!! Despite a massive anti-union campaign and against all the odds they won the vote 6-4! Solidarity forever
Specifically we need to repeal Taft-Hartley and pass the Pro Act. In the meantime Labor needs to make the case by organizing despite the current constraints. By putting its full support behind campaigns like @uaw_azu_union & so many others fighting for their union & a 1st contact

Democrats need to realize that if they want to make their gains permanent and not a fleeting wave election, they MUST do everything they can to unleash the labor movement.
Repeal right to work laws, making sweeping reforms to allow public sector collective bargaining, etc.
This is what the AFL-CIO was aiming for in the late 1940s with Operation Dixie -- undercut by the Cold War, Taft/Hartley etc.

As of yesterday, AutoZone is still sending in management and HR to conduct anti-union meetings in our union store.

🇨🇺 Asked at the UN why the US is blocking fuel from reaching Cuba, where blackouts and fuel shortages have forced hospitals to suspend surgeries, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz insisted fuel is getting in.
“There is no blockade… there is fuel going in. There is fuel going in.”
It is not. The Trump administration has choked off Cuba's fuel supply since January, threatening tariffs on any country that ships oil to the island. The US Coast Guard has seized Cuba-bound tankers carrying diesel.
Only one shipment of crude has reached Cuba all year: about 730,000 barrels on a Russian tanker in late March, according to Cuba's deputy foreign minister. Cuba needs about eight tankers a month. That one cargo eased blackouts for about two weeks, and by May the energy ministry said the country had run out of oil and diesel.
Today, Cuba's grid can supply less than a third of demand, according to Cuba's state electric utility, leaving parts of Havana without power for more than 20 hours a day
BREAKING: BT’s Zoe Alexandra (@ZoeAlexandra_ok) confronted US Ambassador Mike Waltz at the United Nations headquarters on Wednesday, calling out his lie that “there is no blockade” on Cuba – and that the blocking of oil shipments is directly responsible for an escalating humanitarian crisis.
While Waltz retorted that the US allowed the arrival of a Russian oil tanker to Cuba, Alexandra immediately countered that the March fuel delivery was only able to supply a small fraction of the country’s energy needs.
The ambassador then became visibly frustrated and quickly turned to take another reporter’s question.
The encounter followed the UN General Assembly annual vote to end the US blockade on the island nation.

BREAKING: 🇺🇸 American wages have fallen to 43% of national income, the lowest since the Great Depression.
For every $1 the US economy produces, workers are getting less of it than at any point since 1929.
The rest is going to corporate profits, which are now at an all time high.
This is why the economy keeps growing but most Americans feel poorer. GDP goes up, wages go up in dollar terms, but workers are getting a smaller and smaller slice of what they actually produce.
Asset prices keep rising for the same reason.
Money that used to go to wages is now going to shareholders instead, and shareholders put it into stocks, real estate and other assets.

🇺🇸 🇨🇺 Mike Hammer, the top US diplomat in Havana, met with Gen. Francis Donovan, head of US Southern Command, which oversees US military operations in Latin America and the Caribbean. "Plenty to talk about regarding Cuba," the US Embassy posted Monday.
The meeting came two days after Donovan urged Cubans to "seize the moment and create the change you want to see," in a post sharing a CIA appeal for Cubans to secretly work with the agency. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the same call on Friday. That same day, President Donald Trump told a Florida rally the US would deal with Cuba after the war on Iran.
The US has enforced an oil blockade on Cuba since February, intercepting tankers bound for the island. Blackouts have stretched up to 22 hours a day, and in June the UN human rights office reported that medicine supplies had fallen to about 30% of normal.
El jefe de misión Mike Hammer se reunió con el General Frank Donovan, comandante de @Southcom Mucho de qué hablar sobre Cuba.

"In September, workers in White Plains, New York, won the first union at any of AutoZone’s nearly seven thousand US stores, despite an aggressive anti-union campaign. The next day, the company fired a lead organizer. Then another."

HUGE: Spain’s biggest unions have announced a nationwide general strike over housing issues on November 11, just two weeks before a newly called snap election.
Rising rents and evictions have taken center stage in the country over the last month, leading to massive protests and a proposed eviction moratorium which was shot down by the conservative elements in Parliament.
Now the country's two largest unions, UGT and CCOO, have agreed to strike together for the first time in 14 years, with other unions set to join as well.
