The Mercado Central in Alicante - it suffered a terrible aerial bombardment in May 1938, during the Civil War, with over 300 civilians killed. Seen here the following year after the Nationalists took the city.

Memorial to Archibald Dickson, who rescued hundreds of people in Alicante when the Nationalists took the city in 1939, ferrying them to Oran. He lost his life later that year when his merchant ship was sunk by a U-boat.

Another lovely visit today to our very own Co-op on our main campus @UofGlasgow . This store is a real Godsend. We were looked after by the loveliest and most friendliest of colleagues - who is from the Cayman Island. Loved her positivity and genuine warm interaction.

It’s a beautiful morning here on Gilmorehill - the season of mists held at bay for a few more days. Can’t wait to see the students back on campus next week!
