The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared. Because like ALL things, if the punishment is a fine, it isn’t really illegal for rich people.

Rest in peace and power Dónal Lunny, a musical giant and great person. Dónal consistently stood in solidarity with the Palestinian people. He was an early signatory to our Irish Artists' Pledge to Boycott Israel, joining its launch. He will be very very missed. Go well Dónal.

An empty building burns down in France and there is non-stop front page news, global outrage, wall to wall coverage, etc. A school full of children are incinerated alive in Gaza and not even a single report about it. This is why the western decline will continue.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

I have absolutely no idea why my entire timeline is not talking about this right now. Jeffrey Donaldson was the most powerful politician in Northern Ireland. He spent decades lecturing the entire country on moral standards and conservative values. Today he was locked up for 15 years for horrific child sex offences! 🧵

It puzzles me why this is not much more politicised. 4 companies. 23 percent of the grid. Equal to roughly 1.5 million homes. Highest in the world! It takes some head -in-the-sand to think data centres are not driving up household electricity prices.
Data centres run by four US tech giants are now consuming a fifth of Ireland’s total electricity, a Business Post analysis reveals. businesspost.ie/companies/ex…

This is every person and organisation involved in the St John Ambulance Ireland abuse case that's on the record. 39 people and 18 organisations over six decades, all around one abuser. I disclosed in 1999. St John Ambulance didn't make a child protection referral about my complaint until 2012. It was then lost, and only found by Tusla in 2018. The DPP declined to prosecute in five cases. When he was finally charged in 2025, he was found unfit to stand trial. A public inquiry was ruled out. The only independent review was commissioned by St John Ambulance itself, on terms it set, and could reach no conclusions about any individual. Look at where the decision-makers sit. The DPP, the regulators and the Ministers are at the very edge. The officers I disclosed to have no link to any State body. The connections that do exist were made by survivors and a handful of TDs and Senators who raised it for us. And this map only shows what we already know. The real picture is bigger. Nobody has been held to account. Please share this map. The more people see how big this is, the harder it is to ignore. #StJohnAmbulance #Survivors #ChildProtection #Accountability #PublicInquiry

Why we raise our voices against #genocide
697AD - Ireland enacts 'The Law of the Innocents'. It is the earliest known law of its kind in the Western tradition, protecting women and children in time of war. 1824 - Ireland invents the modern peaceful, mass movement political protest Irish Catholics are denied the right to sit in the British Parliament. Daniel O'Connell creates the Catholic Association, charging a very low membership to maximise mobilisation. A poor, daily subsistence society is roused to peaceful political protest. Enormous events and 'monster meetings' involving hundreds of thousands rock the British establishment. Later efforts like the American Civil Rights movement and Gandhi in India have their inspiration. 1880 - Ireland inspires the modern Boycott. Land agent Charles Boycott works an estate in County Mayo, ignoring tenant pleas for rent reductions after poor harvests and price drops. Rejecting violence, the Land League call for a peaceful protest of social isolation, cutting off labour, materials and support. The organised Boycott becomes a viable modern option against unfair practises. 1938 - Ireland commences activity against the Nazi's In 1938, seeing war is coming and criticising Nazi treatment of Jews and Christians, Ireland opens secret back channels with British Intelligence, MI5. They will work together against the Nazi's for 7 years, to such an extent MI5 says 'Ireland was of more use neutral' at wars end. 9% of Ireland's population flock to the UK war effort, the largest neutral nation enlistment in the world. More Irish die fighting the Nazi's, as % of population, than Belgium, Norway and Denmark. Zero leave Ireland to fight for Germany. No state trade or aid goes to the Nazi's, the only neutral to do so. Ireland has the lowest far right uptake in Europe. 1987 - Ireland is the first western country to ban all goods from apartheid South Africa. Following an inspirational 3 year strike by Dunnes Stores supermarket staff, the Irish government bans all goods from the apartheid state, making clear its abhorrence of its practices. 2026 - 13 centuries on, values haven't changed. A nation denied its voice, forced to fight for its freedom, has no intention of being silent. The Irish don't hate. The Irish care. Disagree with the approach all you want. From mass political protest to boycotts, the Irish have heard it all. But do not question the motive - its been around for 1329 years...
