Does the use of ordinal cover scales bias biodiversity metrics?
🔗 vcs.pensoft.net/news/854
@vegsciblog @IAVS5
Using ordinal instead of percent cover estimates in vegetation plots can systematically bias biodiversity indices and distort community rankings, especially with coarse scales like Hult-Sernander-Du Rietz.
