Thanks to the American Autonomic Society for the honour to share some of our research.
Thanks to all my collaborators and team members for their hard work and support.
Great meeting at Synuclein 2025 — always inspiring science and community. Even better seeing my PhD students, Eden Yin and Kreesan Reddy shine in action! Also great to see all the CBR kiwis in Cambridge #Syn2025 #Synuclein2025
Round table at the Synuclein meeting in Cambridge with people with Parkinson’s on the first day. Great initiative from the organisers to give them a voice at this meeting. #Syn2025 #Parkinsons
Parkinson’s research has a critical gap—let’s fix it.
Pacific populations have been overlooked for too long, leaving key questions unanswered. Addressing this health disparity could unlock better care and understanding for everyone.

Man, @JamesAWiseman is a beast!
Two papers in 1 week!
In a new paper with @VDieriks & colleagues, he presents a refinement of the RT-QuIC protocol & analysis pipeline that can distinguish between #Parkinsons & #MSA, plus between MSA phenotypes

Prof Glenda Halliday deserves a lot of credit on this one. Her pathological knowledge of the brain is beyond impressive!
Wiseman et al. provide evidence that the rapid neurodegeneration observed in MSA is driven by toxic α-synuclein fibrils invading neuronal nuclei. They propose redefining MSA as a neuronal nuclear and oligodendroglial α-synucleinopathy. tinyurl.com/4bxj9aj4
Our latest work using Seed Amplification Assays shows that we can distinguish #parkinson from #MSA.

Two new papers on #parkinsons and #MSA accepted this week. @ScienceofPD I’ll better not go on holiday anytime soon or you’ll scoop me again. 😉
Happy New year everyone! Let make 2025 a good one!!#2025newyear
Nice recap
New paper from @JamesAWiseman @VDieriks et al uses multiplex immunohisto. to detect multiple structural domains of α-Syn proteoforms across multiple regions prone to pathological accumulation in MSA (n = 10) & #Parkinsons (n = 10); Very pretty pics!

I’m on holiday but want to share our latest published work on alpha synuclein, before I get beaten to it by @ScienceofPD. I will post the highlights in the new year. Even is you do not do PD research look at it for the amazing images!! @JamesAWiseman rdcu.be/d4Vzd
1/5 🎉 Excited to share our latest work: "Enhanced detection of distinct honeycomb-structured neuronal SMARCC2 cytobodies in Parkinson’s Disease via Cyclic Heat-Induced Epitope Retrieval (CHIER)." Two key insights in this thread! 🧵 #ParkinsonsDisease dx.plos.org/10.1371/journal.…
4/5 A huge thanks to our team and collaborators for their hard work and dedication! This advancement could pave the way for a better understanding of Parkinson's early on. Stay tuned for more updates!
