Observations & Tips From MCS Ladders Weekend 📌 1. Contain Blitzing is the BEST Way to Get Pressure There are two styles of blitzes being used at the highest level right now: 1⃣ Contain Loop Blitzes from 4-DL Sets → Pinch the DL, crash down, and contain with fast DEs. → The DEs will LOOP around the tackles and create instant pressure. → The deeper dropbacks QBs are forced to take this year make these blitzes even better. 2⃣ Drag-Out Contain Blitzes / DB Fire → Spread the DL, grab an LB, and pull them about 3 yards outside of the tackle. → This causes the defender to become untargeted and walk in clean. → DB Fire creates a similar effect simply by showing blitz. → In 3-3 Cub and 3-3 Odd, this has to be done manually. These formations also require packages like LB Pass Rush to allow these players to be moved out. 2. Aggressive Blocking & Aggressive Ball Carrier Should Be on EVERY Play Aggressive Blocking gives you insane blocking on both run and pass plays, while holding is rarely called. You might see one holding penalty every 3-4 games. Aggressive Ball Carrier creates a ton of extra broken tackles without any added risk of fumbling. 3. Everyone is Quick Snapping with Macros Players are either calling a macro directly from the playcall screen and instantly snapping, or flipping/audibling first and THEN calling the macro. Either way, it allows them to snap the ball before the defense is fully set. This forces the defense to choose between having its blitz set up properly or getting its coverage adjustments in. The smartest players are also untargeting the user within their macro, this blocks most META blitzes. 4. Man Coverage is the Defensive META Almost every player competing this weekend was running either: 1⃣ Shade Down Man Pressed Cover 2 Man 2⃣ Murples Cover 0 Man with two Curl Flats Both defenses are extremely difficult to beat when run by an elite player. 5. The Buccaneers Playbook is the Offensive META The three most META formations in the game right now are: 1⃣ Gun Doubles Clamp Stack 2⃣ Gun 5 WR Tight 3⃣ Gun Tight Doubles All three happen to be fully loaded in the Buccaneers playbook. 6. You NEED Short Posts to Beat Man If your offense doesn't have at least one Short Post, you probably shouldn't be using it. These are some of the best man and zone beating routes in the entire game. Doubles Clamp has three of them, which is a huge reason why the formation is so popular. 7. All of Your Receivers NEED to Hit the 85 Route Running Threshold, Especially SRR If you analyze almost any pro player's roster, you'll notice their receivers hit at least the 85 Short Route Running threshold. This not only makes routes beat man coverage at a much higher rate, but it can also fundamentally change how certain routes are run. 8. Don't try to Block Blitzes For some reason slide protection (especially half slide protections) make the DTs go super saiyan. At first, when @RealXclusiv_ pitched this offense to me, I didn’t see the appeal. But after taking an in-depth look, this may be the BEST, or at worst, second-best, META offense in the game. The wide array of HB routes is what determines if a Bunch X Nasty is good or bad in Madden 26. Browns has all of the following: 1. Speed HB In 2. Crab Route 3. Reverse Wheel, aka the orbit motion that allows for it 4. Speed Table 5. Mesh Spot Wheel Then it also has: 1. The Sharp Corner in Drive HB Corner, a man/match killer 2. The Short X Cross Corner on the outside Bunch WR, which is great against aggressive switch sticks 3. The Ultra Short Corner in Bounce Mesh Drive Not to mention, it boasts a short, sharp-cutting post in the play “Dbl Post HB Corner,” a play that is fully unique to the Browns playbook. Then, unlike Benkert, it has a whole array of other viable formations, with the best being Trips TE Flex, which has the unequivocal best RPO in the game. If you prefer Bunch TE, then stick to Benkert. But if you want an ELITE Trips TE Flex built with Slant Post, HB Draw, RPO Zone, and more, I’d lean Browns.
