Tänään on ilon päivä, tämä on hieno löytö❗️
Tänään vihdoin löysin todisteen siitä, minkä tajusin itse jo > 10v sitten: #InhimillinenPahuus juurisyy on #uskonto’ista periytynyt #dualismi, eli #”#UnhelpfulThinkingStyles” liian runsaaskäyttäminen. Hobbes vs. Rousseau on ratkaistu🤗
Sad to discover that #AaronTBeck (“Tim”) died last November - I met & chatted with him in Worcester University a decade ago - autographed my book & told me he didn’t know what #CBT was any more so don’t worry about being a heretic - if it works… do it!📕

I'm an American, a U.S. Army veteran, and I live in Europe.
And I'll tell you something that might upset a few people back home.
I want my fellow Americans to enjoy the same rights, freedoms, and quality of life that millions of Europeans already enjoy.
I want Americans to have access to affordable healthcare without worrying about going bankrupt because they got sick.
I want American students to pursue higher education without burying themselves in decades of debt.
I want Americans to enjoy stronger digital privacy laws, meaningful consumer protections, paid parental leave, and guaranteed paid vacation.
I want police officers held to rigorous standards of accountability, where de-escalation is emphasized and deadly force is genuinely a last resort.
I want Americans to understand that freedom isn't just about what the government cannot do to you. It's also about having the security and opportunity to actually enjoy your life.
And before someone starts screaming about socialism, understand something.
European countries are capitalist democracies. They have private businesses, entrepreneurs, private property, competitive markets, and individual liberties. They've simply made different decisions about what protections their citizens should enjoy.
Europe isn't perfect. No place is. But pretending America has nothing to learn from other democracies is ridiculous.
I served my country. I love my country. And I don't believe patriotism requires pretending that America is the best at everything.
In fact, I believe the exact opposite.
Real patriotism means wanting your country to improve, even when that means admitting another country does something better.
I don't want Americans to have fewer freedoms.
I want them to have MORE.
More protections. More opportunities. More security. More accountability. More freedom to live their lives without being financially destroyed by illness, education, or circumstances beyond their control.
And having lived on both sides of the Atlantic, I know that much of this is possible.
We should stop asking why Americans can't have these things and start asking why they're expected to settle for less.

What if I told you that for decades, this was largely a U.S. policy -- that Europe largerly disarmed, weakened its defense industries, and handed its security over to the United States, making itself dependent?
What if I told you that for decades, this arrangement suited both sides just fine?
America secured its monopoly status as the world's military hegemon and the undisputed leader of the West, gained the ability to project its power across the globe, and had a massive market for its defense industry free from European competition -- all while extending its protection over its vassals-allies in return.
And Europe was perfectly happy to relax under that American umbrella and spend its money on social programs and comfortable life.
And then Donald Trump, at the helm of a superpower, decided that everyone owed him.
That he wants a weak, dependent Europe and a vast market for American military exports -- but has no intention of honoring the part of the old bargain that involved actually protecting that same Europe.
Doesn't anyone else find it hilarious that the Trump admin first screams at the top of its lungs demanding that Europe defend itself and become independent -- and then turns around and expresses displeasure that European countries are switching to their own weapons instead of signing contracts with the American defense industry?

The Pentagon is spending $12 million to DESTROY a $50,000 drone.
And the people who build those missiles don't want you to know that.
Here's the math they're hiding.
Iran builds something called the Shahed drone.
It costs as little as $20,000.
Fits on the back of a pickup truck and can be hidden anywhere.
And it can take out an oil field, a desalination plant, or a military base.
Iran produces roughly 500 of these per day.
They have an estimated stockpile of 80,000 and are cheap, disposable, and devastatingly effective.
Now here's how America defends against them.
A system called THAAD, one interceptor missile costs $12.7 million.
The Patriot system is cheaper but still runs $3.7 million per shot.
So a $50,000 drone flies toward a target.
The US fires a $12 million missile at it.
And it often misses so they fire two and sometimes three.
That is $25 to $36 million spent to stop a drone that cost less than a pickup truck.
This is a financial death spiral.
In the first few days of the Iran conflict, the UAE alone spent an estimated $1.3 to $2.6 billion on air defense.
Iran spent roughly $194 to $391 million on its attacks.
For every $1 Iran spends on drones, Gulf states spend $15 to $35 defending against them.
That ratio is unsustainable and both sides know it.
It gets worse.
The US only planned to acquire 25 to 37 new THAAD interceptors in all of fiscal year 2026.
At current rates of fire, that stockpile could be burned through in days.
So why hasn't the US adapted?
They actually have, sort of.
The Pentagon quietly built a copycat drone called LUCAS.
A reverse-engineered Shahed built by a company in Arizona called Spektreworks and the cost per unit is $35,000.
Iran built a drone so effective that the US military literally copied it and started using it against Iran.
The first combat deployment happened during Operation Epic Fury.
But LUCAS production is still limited.
The US drone pipeline is brand new and meanwhile, Iran has been mass producing Shaheds for over a decade and has shared the tech with Russia, which built a $2 billion factory to produce them.
The real question nobody in Washington wants to answer:
Why did it take this long?
The US watched these drones devastate Ukraine for years.
They saw them used across the Middle East and the cost asymmetry was obvious to anyone with a calculator.
Because the defense industry doesn't make money on $35,000 drones.
They make money on $12 million interceptors but on $360 million Patriot batteries, trillion-dollar programs like the F-35.
Defense contractors spent $148 million on lobbying in recent years.
The Big Five contractors secured $2.1 trillion in Pentagon contracts over the last two decades.
The incentive is to build expensive and not effective.

The current discourse surrounding immigration, especially if you listen to the rhetoric, leans very heavily into false, zero-sum worldviews. There is a concerted effort to arrive at a conclusion and then “back in” the rationale for it.
We should not make policy decisions this way, instead we should be evaluating the data and drawing a conclusion from there.
I have a new essay, completed and ready to go on this, but I am frankly afraid to publish, knowing the amount of hate mail I am going to get for doing so.
Some key points:
Immigration doesn’t lead to fewer jobs for natives; that’s classic Lump of Labor Fallacy. A famous study, for example, examined the effect of the “Mariel Boatlift,” the mass emigration of Cubans to Miami, Florida, in 1980. This event abruptly increased Miami’s labor supply by 7 percent, yet there was no discernible impact on wages or unemployment.
Immigration restrictions lead to lower incomes and fewer jobs: A study examining the effects of the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act found that it depressed the economy of Western US states for generations.
Immigrants in the US are disproportionately innovative: While comprising just 11 percent of the US population, immigrants account for 23 percent of patent output and 32 percent of overall US innovative output after 1990. Non-Americans account for an astonishing 54% of master’s degrees and 44% of doctorate degrees issued by American universities in science, technology, engineering, or math.
Restricting immigration, therefore, depresses American innovation: The 1924 Immigration Act, for example, led to a 68% decline in patent applications in industries where affected immigrants specialized and reduced US inventive output by an estimated 30 percent overall.
Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than “natives”: A comprehensive analysis of US incarcerations from 1870 to 2020, for example, found that immigrants were 60 percent less likely to be incarcerated than natives (a gulf that has been widening since the 1960s).

🚨 Europe and the U.S. Is Facing a War It Has Not Fought, Ukraine Already Has
If Europe or the U.S. is forced to confront Russian aggression, it will not be facing the Russia of early 2022. It will face an army shaped by years of continuous, brutal, adaptive warfare. An army that has learned, failed, adjusted, and learned again under real fire.
Neither European nor American forces have comparable experience of this kind of war. Ukraine stands alone. Its soldiers have fought day after day against massed artillery, electronic warfare, and above all, drones.
But drones themselves are only part of the story. One of the true superweapons of this war is speed of adaptation.
In Ukraine, warfare has become a living ecosystem. A new tactic works. It is deployed at scale. The enemy observes it, studies it, and within weeks or even days introduces a counter. That counter works briefly, until it too is exposed, understood, and neutralised. Then the cycle repeats. Faster. Smarter. More lethal each time.
This is not innovation in labs or doctrine papers. It is battlefield driven evolution. Software updates pushed straight to the front. Drone designs modified overnight. Tactics rewritten between rotations. Command structures flattened because survival depends on decision making at the lowest possible level. Whoever adapts slowest dies.
We all see the videos. Western military exercises with tanks rolling across open fields, clean formations, perfect visibility. Tanks costing twenty to thirty million dollars moving as if the battlefield were still Iraq or Afghanistan. In Ukraine, that tank survives minutes. Often less. The moment it moves, it is seen. The moment it is seen, it is targeted. FPV drones, loitering munitions, artillery corrected in real time. The kill chain is measured in seconds.
The same applies to infantry. Soldiers moving toward a staging point, a trench, a tree line. In NATO exercises, this is a routine movement. In Ukraine, it is a countdown. Drones are already overhead. Two or three minutes later, precision strikes follow. Gathering forces the way NATO still trains to do is no longer a neutral act. It is an invitation to be destroyed.
The uncomfortable truth is that NATO is still preparing for the last war. Platform heavy, slow to adapt, obsessed with expensive hardware that looks impressive in exercises and parades. Ukraine, by necessity, has moved on. It fights a war of sensors, speed, dispersion, improvisation, and relentless adaptation. Cheap drones killing exquisite systems. Bureaucracy replaced by feedback loops. Plans replaced by learning.
If a wider war breaks out, NATO forces would be learning these lessons under fire. Ukraine already knows them, because it paid for them in blood.
So the real question is not whether Ukraine should be integrated into European defence. That question is already obsolete. The real question is whether Europe is ready to absorb Ukraine’s adaptive mindset, its tempo, and its way of fighting. Not selectively. Not symbolically. But structurally.
History is full of the same mistake repeated. We all remember the images, troops marching in straight lines into machine gun fire because institutions could not adapt fast enough. Doctrine lagged reality. Today, the formations look different, but the pattern is the same. Marching into drone rain instead of shrapnel does not make it. If institutions cannot adapt at the speed of the battlefield, they will send soldiers forward with yesterday’s answers into tomorrow’s killing zones.
