Onchain update:
Staking yield has increased following the migration.
All user unstakes are claimable. 17,000 HYPE is waiting for user action.
Currently, up to 30,000 stHYPE can be unstaked for settlement <5 days.
On 15 October 2026 at 15:00 UTC the 500,000 HYPE provided to the Ethena HyENA HIP-3 exchange, plus all accrued staking yield, will be returned to stHYPE's five fast withdrawal CoreWriter accounts.
No action is required by users, all funds are safe.
During the migration there will be a temporary pause of stHYPE mint and burns starting 15 October 2026 at 14:58 UTC. There are no expected issues for any integrations, stHYPE remains fully backed.
stHYPE's yield is currently visibly decreased as unstaking from the HyENA HIP-3 account is underway. Yield will resume to its full value when the migration is complete on 15 October.
No action is required by LPs. By nature of stHYPE contracts all pending withdrawals will be settled during the migration process on 15 October 2026.

Most restaking yield came from points so it was effectively a levered points farm.
Staked HYPE has real utility: trading fee discounts, HIP-3/4 market deployment, etc. and most holders use none of it.
What Valantis has built makes perfect sense. Restaking lets you keep bag holding HYPE while renting its utility to people who actually need it.
