I don't think I'd want an adaptation of Piranesi for the story telling aspect… Susanna Clarke's book nailed that for me. But I WOULD want to see a visual adaptation of Piranesi's labyrinth… the imagery was just so rich for me that it's hard to not ask for.

If it’s anything like the watershed moment ISAM was, not just for electronic music but audio/visual performances too…. well, we might as well strap in.

Nick Offerman's performance in the Last of Us completely reset all my expectations. Man deserves an award just for that episode IMO.

Today's soundtrack, for me, is Vivaldi. Apparently he wrote notes in the margins of his music: "It says to play this slow… but you *could* play it fast if you wanted to…" So I like to think that he was one of the first and original metal-heads. youtu.be/T22GJNt1SbE?t=405

I finished reading Susanna Clarke's novel Piranesi and decided to give it a review on Goodreads. I gave it five stars. You can read my thoughts about it here: goodreads.com/review/show/54…

We all know the classical styles of columns: Corinthian, Doric, and Ionic. But there’s a lesser known fourth style of columns that were designed just for show, and would crumble if any load were put on them; the so-called “Ironic” columns. I’ll see myself out (happy April Fools)

Pop culture loves the surrogate father/daughter trope where he’s grizzled and she’s violent. They usually adopt traditionally masculine behaviors. I would like to see more mother/son duos where they survive action/horror scenarios through empathy, intuition, and perseverance.

The kind of AI development that I think is obliquely positive and can do great good in the world: giving someone’s voice back to them after a life-altering medical incident. (Also appears they secured contact with an AI startup to help them.) reddit.com/r/AskProgramming/…
