The entire “repack” space should probably be taken down in 2027 It’s probably too early in the “gathering supplies to repackage in unregulated digital slot machines” industry for top paid attention to be focused against it, but my god is it one big unregulated gambling scam complete with fake valuations and inside deals that range from manufacturing valuations to grading

Trunk-or-treat quietly destroyed Halloween, and nobody wants to admit why. Instead of kids exploring neighborhoods, learning independence, and knocking on doors, parents park 40 SUVs in a sterile church lot at 3 PM to hand out candy in 15 minutes flat. It was never about "safety." It’s about hyper-convenience, institutional paranoia, and the collapse of community trust. Did we replace the best night of childhood with an outdoor drive-thru, or is the old way actually too dangerous now?

Nice going, everyone.
Alabama passed a law, 138 votes to nothing, that makes every phone user in the state prove their age before downloading a single app. A 45-year-old who wants a news app has to hand ID to Google first. Existing accounts get no pass either. Every one of them must be verified by October 2027. Teenagers will need a parent’s sign-off to install Wikipedia, Duolingo or a Bible app, and kids without a parent to ask get locked out completely. Apple, Google and Amazon’s lobby group has now sued to block it on First Amendment grounds. reclaimthenet.org/alabama-is…

If you're black, I have the easiest Halloween costume for you. Wrap an Israeli flag around you, and just start calling everyone you see an antisemite. Voila, you're @VanJones68.

This only scratches the surface. Medicaid and Medicare fraud it the tip of the iceberg. Just one example: There is multi-generational fraud in a number of ethnic communities. I was a fraud examiner after my military career and my partner, a nurse turned lawyer, and I found over 800 Medicaid fraud cases in less than 2 years (in 2013/14). Our threshold per case filing was $500K and we had dozens of cases over $5M in the aggregate. Guess how many of the cases the affected states took action on: 2. And Medicare was just as bad, but no Federal District Attorney under Obama would take a fraud case, especially if it was an immigrant or indigenous American Indian. I finally quit after banging my head against the government brick wall for 10 years. One of my last cases was identifying false "Blue Zones", which is a Demographic term (often co-opted by epidemiologists for what is typically called "supercentenarian clusters") for pockets of populations with a larger number than average folks that were 100 year old or older. We found areas in California, Texas, Colorado and Arizona where certain ethnic groups had sizable Blue Zones that were 6-25X higher than any ever recorded on the planet. It took only one case to break the code: an ethnic Chinese woman in NorCal was suing a hospital for giving her the wrong blood type during emergency surgery. We reviewed the records and after a single interview, we determined that she had assumed the ID (and medical history) of another Chinese immigrant who had passed away about 6 years previous. The original patient died at age 94, ostensibly making the fraudster 100 or 101. It was later determined that she was 58 or 59 years old. In addition to assuming the late patient's ID, she also assumed her Social Security payments as well as other benefits provided by the government, including food and housing. She paid 30% to a "community trust" which handled the fraud. She was offering to turn in others to avoid a lengthy jail term, but the State of California inexplicably dropped all the charges. Oh yeah, the patient that was suing wasn't the first generation of this fraud, she was the second. The original patient was believed to have passed away in 1989. Find any community that handles it's own deaths and burials and you will find the same thing. It happens on Indian reservations, in Chinese, East Asian and African communities. Normal at-home deaths are not reported to the state and the "community trusts" handle all burial and cremains repatriation. Another member of the community, usually illegal, but not always, assumes that person's ID and benefits; in many states, they will be admitted to an ethnically affiliated hospice care facility (on paper anyway) and that facility will get funds to care for a patient that only exists on paper. Rinse and repeat. We found one case in southern Arizona where one Native American man was carrying the IDs of six other men and collecting SS, VA, and various retirement pensions for all six of them. His was enrolled at 2 different hospices on Indian reservations 370 miles apart. His monthly payments were in excess of $36K and he got to keep half of that. We notified the State of Arizona and the local Congressional and Senate offices with no results and no action taken. And I have much worse examples. DOGE needs to be enshrined as a Cabinet-level position and we need biometric validation of everyone collecting federal or state benefits, as a start.

The Philadelphia 76ers have struck a multi-year deal with Kalshi to make Kalshi its official prediction market partner. Sixers say they're the 1st NBA team to name an official prediction market partner, and are following in the footsteps of the NBA's deals this week.

The two worst candidates (and imo human beings) running for US Senate in competitive races currently are a Democrat and a Republican Find friends amongst those who can admit this obvious truth and realize an obvious truth about those who can’t ***There is a tiny bit of subjective wiggle room but not enough to drop either man out bottom 3 senate candidates overall

I think millennials are having a factory reset. Nobody wants their career. Nobody wants corporate culture. Nobody wants another fucking productivity app. We just want a little house, some hobbies, financial security and to be left the fuck alone. Apparently that’s radical now.

Apes seem to copy whatever popular direction their consumers are already moving in (token / metaverse / TCG) Penguins copy apes They have both been milking the current thing since 2022 Neither is leading a cultural defining movement or moment in 2026 The only discernible difference is one was birthed by creative MFAs being goofy and having fun and it showed early on The other was birthed by a serial scammer then sold to another serial scammer who leveraged past success in spite of his history to place toys in Walmart that have ended up in liquidation stores The insufferable ones in both groups are those who pretend there is anything of substance coming out of these communities as it applies to the world outside these communities (insular “cool for the club stuff” does exist to some extent) But if you find yourself mad and arguing that boring societal copy cat cartoon apes shouldn’t talk down to scamming ape copy cat cartoon penguins, maybe take a second to touch grass
Some of y’all are seriously fucking insufferable. I’ve never once in my time here (5-6 years) felt the need to shit talk another project’s activation while their holders are trying to be bullish and enjoy something for once. This is the attitude that makes the space not fun to be in anymore. And these are some of the loudest voices in it, I find it super odd tbh.

The No-Show job schemes of more recent immigrants in America would make the Five Families blush SBA loans were also available to non green card holders until February of 2026 You can stick you head in the sand or you can acknowledge that the smoke shop that opened in your town in the last 10 years with 0 chance of profitability based on inventory and infrastructure costs vs demand and sales is actually a tax payer covered immigration/entitlement front We aren’t there yet, but we will be as it isn’t just the healthcare system being abused (though it is ground zero) Republicans like to talk about “Selling out the middle class” bc the middle class votes the most The reality is we’ve sold out the lower class, our most vulnerable Americans, by shifting their protections and leg up opportunities to fraudsters of foreign backgrounds When affirmative action shifted to DEI, it seemed obvious to me who was being sold out and the voracity of that selling out has increased ten fold in the last few years Without being too flippant, if your forefathers came here on a boat, the left doesn’t care about you anymore and prefers those who came over on a plane or through a border crossing This isn’t a pro right post (they don’t care about you either) it’s the realization of a massive fraud operation that has and will continue to disproportionally screw over the types of American Citizens whose needs were always more tended to by Dems than republicans Now they’ve been fully abandoned
Ram Chhetri came to the US as a refugee, but this might be worst day of his life: It's the moment he realizes the $80k-$160k/year salary he's bilked from Medicaid for no-show work is coming to an end because @realdailywire caught the truth on camera. We conducted months of surveillance that shows why "home care aide" is now the *most common job* in states like NY, CA, MN, and PA: Because a large part of those jobs are unambiguous Medicaid fraud. Thanks to home care, Bhutanese refugees now make more money than actual PA families. The state doesn't just look the other way, but helps them get away with it. Converting federal health dollars into a universal basic income for certain communities relieves the financial burden they place on the state. The scammers easily deceive the feds' woefully broken monitoring system. You'll see Ram pull into a driveway for 2 minutes in the morning, then 2 minutes in the evening. He clocks in and out of his shift from the right place, and the GPS system doesn't notice that he goes home in between. $20 an hour doesn't sound like much, but at 77 hours a week, it's $80k–and it's easy to bill huge hours when you don't actually have to work them. And that's just for the low-level guys in this scheme.

The Brewers regarded smoking cigarettes before games as a good luck charm and their motto was ‘if we smoke heaters in the cage, we will smoke heaters in the game’ Christian Yelich on this: “You walk by the cage and see the cigs lit and you’re like, the boys are ready to rock.” (Via @JeffPassan)

Crypto was sold to me based on the idea you had freedom to transact whereas your bank account could be frozen by a corrupt government like we saw in Canada during Covid Are we still pretending your money is more at risk in a bank than in crypto? I’d argue freedom to transact is a fair worry that’s an order of magnitude behind “all your money could be drained without you doing anything wrong” If you hate banks go to cash or if still wanting to “invest” go to gold All the freedom to transact none of the worries of ai or hackers wiping you out Many benefits to crypto but the juice isn’t worth the squeeze risk in Q4 2026
