#BREAKING A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MCLEOD DAM IN NEW MEXICO DAM FAILURE IS IMMINENT!
People ask us why we do this... but if you've never been affected by a natural disaster that's a difficult question to answer.
We help because we're called to do so. We help because, with your support, we can.
Someone has to....
The people affected need a voice. They need a helping hand. They are going through a lifechanging ordeal that has turned their entire world upside down.
Right now, all over the disaster area residents are throwing their furniture to the curb and ripping out their carpets.
They're piling their mattresses up on the curb. They are tearing the drywall and insulation from their walls.
They have to because any part of the home that stays soaked with flood waters will mold.
We help because we're in this together and we would want someone to do the same for us if the shoe were on the other foot. For many of us... we HAVE been there
A quick note about the displaced pets wish list.
The highest priority pet items right now are the pet carriers and disposable litter boxes. We're working to get these items to local animal welfare groups who are actively relocating animals out of the disaster area.

River Sentry Flood Warning is a Liberty Hill business that created flash flood warning systems. They warned people in Ingram this morning:
"At Approximately 0332 AM, six of our RS-1A siren towers were involved in a flash flood intervention after detecting high water at Howdy's and River Run Campground near Ingram, Texas.
All units activated, triggering the immediate evacuation of the camp ground and surrounding residents who were awoken by the towers.
Three towers were damaged and/or lost and this is OK. We always place our equipment between sleeping quarters and the river to ensure water must encounter our sensors before it reaches people.
This strategy was proven sound early this AM. We may have to replace some gear but so be it. It accomplished its purpose." @fox7austin
