I'm afraid if you don't believe that people can be convinced into supporting reason, that means you believe communism is impossible. Everything schmitt wrote was built on an extremely strong (secularised) version of original sin which is anathema to socialism.

If you still think giving the government the power to “regulate big tech” is not going to backfire on the Left- even after the anti-Palestine laws- then frankly you’ll never learn.
If this is a true statement, it's a quite stupid one
It's not surprising that the pope believes AI can't be conscious and doesn't have a soul because he's the pope. Of course he thinks humans have souls given to us by God. Pro-AI people getting mad about this are ridiculous, and anti-AI people praising it are also wrong.
I consider myself a marxist socialist and I think zohran is a reformist, but I'd much rather have unity with well-meaning social democrats like zohran rather than guys like this quote tweeter who wave around the hammer and sickle to spread anti-jewish hatred and conspiracies.

there's a huge organizing tension between disability being a huge vector of actual social marginalization that is overlooked a lot and the fact that ableism accusations seem to be one of the most potent forms of wreckerism introduced in the contemporary era
To be clear, this ruling leads to disastrous consequences no doubt, but the judge is following binding Supreme Court precedent from 2001. The judge has done nothing wrong at all. Only the Supreme Court can fix this terrible situation.
A federal appeals court judge ruled that the First Amendment protects an individual’s right to privately possess images or videos of child sexual abuse created using AI — if the material does not depict a real person and remains in the home. wapo.st/4hXljRs

Protestants love to see the only actual cool things that Christianity ever produced, insanely metal lore, obviously fraudulent relics, and trumped up spectacle, and get so scared they shit themselves
This is not Christianity.

This video shows the skull of Saint Agatha, a 3rd-century Christian martyr, being placed in her reliquary in Catania for the 900th anniversary of her relics' return. Veneration of relics is a long-established practice of the Catholic Church, Christianity's largest branch. facebook.com/EWTNVatican/po…
Cassie is directionally correct as she often is. Any trans advocacy and politics should take as a given the fact that about 80% of people believe trans women aren't *really* women, but at least 60% theoretically believe trans people should have some rights.

I find the “woke 1 was crazy” thing is pretty distasteful. We watched George Floyd get murdered on video, as he screamed and cried for his mother. The politics that came in response to that was an honest way of trying to combat the institutions that produced that outcome.

"LLMs are trained on stolen works" should be off the charts far, far, far down, such that you have to keep scrolling for like ten minutes to even see it.
