June Jones proved that you CAN win at SMU post death penalty. He ended a 20+ year bowl appearance drought, going 3-1 in bowls. He played an important role in getting the program to where it is today. Rest in Peace and thanks for being a Mustang
Will be a sad addition to a perpetually growing list of shuttered Dallas spots I dearly loved. They include the Ginger Man on Boll Street, Trinity Hall, CD Source, Bill’s Records, Luscher’s Red Hots, Off-Site Kitchen… (trails off and sobs)

Random thoughts before I try to get some sleep:
-Chunky Green will be a Doak Walker finalist by the end of his college career
-Randy Pittman is as advertised (and has another year of eligibility thanks to 5-for-5)
-Speedy Nettles: unsung hero
Buenos noches
Gotta be up in six hours to get the kid ready for school. Currently sipping bourbon and refreshing SMU and Florida State message boards. College football is so back.

SMU is 15-2 since joining the ACC.
2-0 against Florida State, which voted against SMU joining the league.

Decent time to mention that this arrived on my doorstep over the weekend. Fine bourbon and tumbler not included. #PonyUp

Our Super 11 Coach of the Year from the 2025 season finally gets the goods. Congrats and thank you to @rhettlashlee of @SMUFB
What a fun and surreal night @LoneStarEMMY. I share this honor with my friends and colleagues @newyscruggs, @PatDoneyNBC5 and @noah_bullard. Of course, I had to sneak in “K7 for Heisman” at the end of my speech 😂
