Im'ma be real, I think giving Cloud those laser beams that you'd get after you dodge in FFVII Rebirth was a mistake. I really love the constant switching in and out in Remake. In Rebirth you're not punished for just sticking with Cloud.

Literally no one reviews games like it's a checklist. It's more often than not when the player/reviewer vibes with the game, they could ignore all the other "flaws" and only elevates/focus the good parts. Same reason why some rate that mid ass Stellar Blade.
It is kinda funny that the old OOT looks more "realistic", while the remake looks uncanny simply because Link's eyes are properly proportioned/scaled. This is why, designers are important, people.

- Colors/Abilities can be unlocked for Piko
- Cid is the temporary leader of the party in Chapter 4. Cloud and Tifa aren't here for story reasons.
- Snowboarding minigame in Golden Saucer wasn't great
- Mai was the worst part of the demo. She handholds too much with tutorials, checklists and non-skippable dialogue. It was immersion breaking.
