After a video of it spread on social media, netizens were moved by its unusual form and sheer will to thrive, affectionately dubbing it "MeiJianqiang," meaning "tough bougainvillea."

On October 22, the ultra-large container vessel CSCL Atlantic Ocean safely berthed at Yangpu International Container Terminal. It is the largest container ship ever to call at the Hainan Free Trade Port. Sailing from its previous port of call in Vietnam, CSCL Atlantic Ocean has a deadweight tonnage of 184,320 tonnes and an overall length of nearly 400 meters. It operates on the South China-US Southwest service. After loading and discharging 5,514 TEUs at Yangpu International Container Terminal, the vessel will proceed to Hong Kong SAR.

Recently, a Spoon-billed Sandpiper was spotted foraging peacefully on wetland mudflats by members of the Danzhou Bay Bird Protection Team during a bird survey. Known as the “Giant Panda of Birds”, this critically endangered species is under China’s first-class national wildlife protection. This marks a breakthrough in the comprehensive operation and distribution efficiency of SDIC Yangpu Oil Storage Terminal. As the only public oil terminal and storage tank farm in Yangpu Petrochemical Functional Park, SDIC Yangpu Oil Storage is also Hainan Province’s largest petroleum storage and transportation base. It is equipped with a 300,000-tonne berth, a 50,000-tonne berth, and two 30,000-tonne berths for oil and chemical products, capable of handling vessels ranging from 1,000 to 375,000 tonnes.
