Great talks, fab posters, good food, drinks and happy faces on a perfect summer day☀️Ending day2 of our @UU_Plants @EPSGradSchool summer school on a high !
I never thought I would work with fluorescence, something that you can only see using a microscope. Otherwise, nobody would believe that your plant emits such an alien and bright fluorescent light.

The death of protoplasts. I was told that I made a restaurant for fungi by keeping my leaf protoplasts in not fully sterile conditions. However, they still look pretty.

What can we do to stop the spread of the most dangerous viruses to humans – zoonotic viruses? With the increase in population and livestock production, we are in such danger. @WimvanderPoel1 gave a nice talk about possible solutions. @PEandRC @UUBeta

Do you have any concerns regarding how plant scientists can help in dealing with the consequences of climate change? You may find relevant findings about barleys here. 👇🏼
💧 As climate change increases the occurrence of flooding events, could barley (an important cereal crop) still germinate in the face of submergence?
💧 It depends on hypoxia-induced secondary dormancy...
