Today we celebrate Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day. We are grateful for the care, dedication, and creativity these educators bring each day. Their work helps shape the foundation of learning, growth, and faith for our youngest students, creating safe and supportive environments where children can thrive. Thank you to all Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educators for the important role you play in building strong futures for our children and our communities.
We are grateful for the dedicated drivers who ensure our students travel safely to and from school each day. Their commitment, patience, and care play an important role in the success of our school communities. Thank you to all our bus drivers for the positive impact you make in the lives of our students and families.

Technology is a major part of our everyday lives, but building healthy digital habits is all about finding the right balance. Making time for outdoor activities, hobbies, quality time with family and friends, restful sleep, and daily movement plays a huge role in supporting our overall physical and mental well-being. Every family is unique, and finding the screen-time routines that fit your household's lifestyle can build a much healthier relationship with tech. Here at WECDSB, we encourage our entire school community to prioritize balance both on and off the screen! Explore more practical ideas for your home at k12cyberawareon.ca/digital-f….

Last night, hundreds of students crossed the stage at St. Michael's Catholic Adult School to receive their Ontario secondary school graduate diplomas. Among them was Maymouna Alsheikh Omar, who was also her graduating class valedictorian. Originally from Syria, Maymouna spent a number of years in Lebanon before arriving in Windsor to finish her high school education. During her time at St. Mike's, she excelled academically, completed more than 200 community service volunteer hours and was the recipient of the Dr. Phyllis E. Bradshaw Bursary. Check out this video about this incredibly resilient young woman.
Congratulations to Kyle Bezaire, shown here with FJ Brennan Principal Brianne Trudell, and Stacey Ditchfield, shown here with Holy Names Principal Kyle Cowan, who were both acknowledged yesterday with a Champion of Inclusion Award at the Coaching to Inclusion Conference in London. Developed in 1999, these awards recognize educators who live, breathe and implement inclusive education by reflecting a positive attitude about the worth, value and ability of all students. The recipients celebrate all students learning together with their age-appropriate peers in regular classroom settings and participating in all aspects of the life of their school. Way to go Stacey and Kyle. We appreciate everything you do for our students and their families!
We are excited to welcome a group of high school students from Brazil who will arrive here in February of 2027 and are looking for hosts who might welcome one of them into their home. Hosts are compensated to help cover costs, and will be provided with ongoing support throughout the student’s stay.
Please join us in praying for a full recovery for Pope Leo and his continued health.
O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful, look favorably on your servant Leo XIV, whom you have set at the head of your Church as her shepherd; grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
