AI is the Great Oxidation Event. When aerobic respiration arrived on Earth it unlocked 18x more power. As a result, aerobic life grew and anaerobic became niche. AI unlocks way more than 18x. The choice is either to accept niche fate or embrace and thrive.
A buttload of developers are going through a tough time right now.
Their identity has always been tied to their ability to write code, so now they feel threatened by this new era where *anyone* can write code.
If they don't write code anymore, who are they?
I'm very pragmatic, and yet I've struggled with this too, so I totally understand how tough it must be for others.
You'll hear from these people everywhere. They are the ones fighting with everything they've got against AI-generated code.
But they must understand this is an uphill battle.
Manually writing code is destined to disappear. There's no going back.
AI can level the playing field between corporation and individual. No wonder companies are banning agent access.
If hyperbole online (Godwin, kys, etc) is an attempt to match the dynamics of f2f interaction how can we do better? 🤔

Math made all of this possible. Imagine discovering a discovery machine. It's the stuff of legends. Mathematicians should be euphoric.
As AI takes over the role of explorer it's going to make maps. Maps with such coverage and detail that anywhere we want to go, in whatever kind of space, we'll be able to plan out a route beforehand.
This has the potential to turn work into recreation. Before hiking we plan where we start, how long and hard the journey and which overlooks we reach. Post-AI we can sit down and decide to explore why square packing is such an interesting problem, or vibe code a game, or direct a movie.
At the end of the trip, we won't remember every detail, we won't be able to create the same games or movies by hand, but we'll come away with unforgettable experiences, and we'll be able to share those again at anytime in the future.
Went back and watched AlphaZero's win over Lee Sedol. Ten years later it seems Go is still going as strong as ever. The attention around that time raised the game's profile for a bit as well. Humans who enjoy Math are going to be fine.
Artificial grass shall now be known as...

Agentic coding driving everyone from web to native is going to leave a trail of decaying web apps. What does this remind you of?
As a premium user, it's not ads but this new Android app behavior that starts a short on open. Immediately closed the app a few times and literally unsubscribed from a short heavy channel. I'll do it again.
