True, good to see investment in data on a key womens health issue . But pls invest in data on #breastfeeding which lowers breast cancer risk by 30-40% if done for >12 mo., yet no good data since 2010! And invest in our unfunded national breastfeeding strategy to help mums do it!

Prevention of breastcancer is important & good data is essential to develop policies & evaluate results. On the primal preventative health strategy #breastfeeding, Australia has dropped the ball badly. No data,no funding for Breastfeeding Strategy @AlboMP @Mark_Butler_MP

👍 #AnnaTaylor @Food_Foundation for highlighting that #breastfeeding is the single most powerful interv to prevent #obesity. Rather than debating #HFSS vs #UPF we should focus on measures to ⬆️ diets based on less processed foods from birth. @HLFoodObesity
If your baby was born in N.Ireland, you will NOT be invited to take part in this latest Infant Feeding Survey (IFS) which is only for families in England.
What's the plan for an IFS in NI? @healthdpt @RobinSwann_MLA @publichealthie @RcmNi @babyfriendly @RCPCHtweets @BirthWiseNI
The Infant Feeding Survey will ask mothers:
➡️ how they feed their babies
➡️ where they get advice on feeding
➡️ questions on their pregnancy & lifestyle
If your baby was born in December, you may get invited to take part.

Wrong. Breastfeeding & breastmilk contributes far more than antibodies to immunity & effects don’t ‘wear off’ after weaning. It is far more complex: as this review illustrates, exclusive breastfeeding develops both innate & adaptive immune system response. scielo.br/j/jped/a/thC4sJh9r…

👍@RosieBoycott for raising @Food_Foundation report on #breastfeeding stressing its immense potential to address #obesity. While #LordMarkham highlights need for support, it's essential to recognise equal need for protection against formula #marketing theyworkforyou.com/lords/?id…

The UPF infant formula, bottle and teat, pacifier& sleep training industry can’t make $$ unless babies & mothers are separated.
Breastfeeding HAS to fail for them to profit. PLEASE @Mark_Butler_MP @healthgovau @AlboMP , legislate the WHO Code

We need to see some leadership on the issue of infant formula pricing. Supermarket points, vouchers, or promotions are not an equitable or sustainable solution to the rising prices of infant formula. Families and children are the ones who will suffer unless govt controls prices.
Why are baby formula prices so high and how can this be tackled? Feeding one baby with infant formula for one year in Ireland costs between €780 to €910. By @LizOSullivanPhD @Kennedy_ails @WeAreTUDublin @samantha_a_h @QUBelfast @c_patton_ @Law_Leeds rte.ie/brainstorm/2024/0206/…
