This happened today at the most unexpected moment
More import than the research itself (which is still important) is how you communicate passion, motivation, and application of your findings in ~5 min. Practice makes perfect.
Thank you @MidwesternUniv @CCOMDeansOffice – at Chicago, IL

Chicago area residents, fellows, and early career surgeons: the Chicago Committee on Trauma would like to hear from you! We have an interest group focused on careers in trauma, surgical critical care, emergency general surgery, and burn surgery. forms.gle/szuHXefqbHCdBwvE7
“All Creatures Great and Small” was the first James Herriot book I read. Inspired the name for the Cello I got as a senior in high school, Helen. Little did I know, his veterinary tales likely were the first seedlings of my growth into a surgeon.
I limped through the back half of an engineering degree, abandoned any programming skills I had 1/3 of my life ago, to focus and pursue an MD. Now it is catching up to me as I relearn those skills to be an adequate manipulator of my research data.
At least I know the only two classes (French 101/102) I took that didn’t count for credit for either degree will be put to the test this fall when I see my cointern married in France! #NoRegrets
I’m really curious when I’m going to regret leaving my music career and skills by the wayside. I’m much more confident that these would come back quickly.
Presented on this same topic as a resident. Couldn’t get it published. Similar results. Sure there is a selection bias of those who can and can’t be closed, but if it can be done, it appears to beneficial. Looking forward to the manuscript! – at Chicago, IL
