WMF World Cup

Quarter Final day against host nation Azerbaijan ends our @WMFWorldCup campaign, losing 2-1. Azerbaijan started the game on the front foot, getting the better chances and eventually finding themselves a goal to the good. The second half, England became a different team with a skillful goal coming through Mussa Bham. It all looked set for penalties until late on where a mistake was made and England scored an own goal. Heartbreaking. The lads have done extremely well to get to this stage in the tournament and we can only grow stronger. They should be proud of themselves and have their heads held high. We will continue to push and become better together. COME ON ENGLAND 🦁🦁🦁 #england #minifootball #wmfworldcup

WE ARE HEADING TO THE QUARTER FINALS! The round of 16 tie of our @WMFWorldCup campaign against Bulgaria finished 2-2 after 50 minutes. We were then victorious on penalties winning 3-1! A first half of feeling the game out gave chances to Bulgaria with England defending them well. The second half started off brightly getting forward more as we were awarded a penalty as Gardner’s strike hit a Bulgarian arm. Gardner then buried the penalty in the bottom right corner. Bulgaria were quick to react equalising just a minute later. It wasn’t over yet though as Bulgaria’s goalkeeper made a mistake which allowed Gardner to intercept the ball and chip the goalkeeper from our own half. Late on in added time Bulgaria managed to score to take it to penalties. Al Droubi turned out to be the hero once again saving Bulgaria’s first penalty. England dispatched all three penalties crowning us the winners of the tie heading into the Quarter Finals! #wmfworldcup #minifootball #england

England’s second game of our @WMFWorldCup campaign finishes 1-1 with a well fought draw against Hungary 🇭🇺 A Sam Fitzgerald little tap past the goalkeeper gave us the lead in the second half. Hungary kept on pushing forward with a goal line scramble forcing England to throw bodies in front of the countless shots. However, late on Hungary managed to nick a late equaliser resulting in the points being shared. The Three Lions will remain top of the table after match week two 💪🦁 #wmfworldcup #minifootball #england
