🇫🇷 2000 Concorde with F1 and FIA personnel.
The Flight & Occasion:
Air France operated special supersonic charter flights (such as AF4565) connecting Nice and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to carry VIP guests, Formula 1 team members, and FIA officials attending the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Visual:
The distinctive four-ring reheat (afterburner) exhaust trails behind the Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 engines during takeoff from Runway 22 at Nice, pushing the aircraft down the coastal runway.
What an unbelievable sight but tragically 2 months later.
This precise airframe, F-BTSC ("Sierra Charlie"), was the same aircraft that was lost two months later in the Air France Flight 4590 tragedy outside Paris on July 25, 2000. 🥹
A total of 113 people died in the Air France Flight 4590 crash on July 25, 2000.
109 on board the aircraft:
All 100 passengers and 9 crew members.
Four on the ground:
Hotel staff at the Hôtel Hôtelissimo in Gonesse, France, where the aircraft struck.
R.I.P to all the lost souls 🥹🙏🏻

During the Sunday morning warm-up session at the 1989 German Grand Prix (July 30, 1989) at the Hockenheimring, Ferrari driver Nigel Mansell suffered a spin in the stadium section while encountering Stefan Johansson driving the Onyx (Onyx-Ford), which nearly resulted in a chaotic near-miss with his Ferrari teammate Gerhard Berger.
Thankfully for the team both were able to start the race but as seen Mansell stalled the Ferrari.

🇫🇷 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans
The 58th Grand Prix d'Endurance des 24 Heures du Mans (1990 24 Hours of Le Mans) took place on June 16–17, 1990, at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
It was a landmark event in endurance racing history, featuring significant track updates and intense competition among factory teams.
Key Highlights & Context
The Track Modification:
1990 marked the first year that two chicanes were added to the iconic Mulsanne Straight (Ligne Droite des Hunaudières) to comply with FIA rules capping maximum speeds and improving driver safety. 😭😭
Factory Showdown:
The race featured a major battle among Group C machinery, notably between Jaguar, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, and Mazda. Mercedes-Benz withdrew prior to the event due to rule changes regarding world championship points.
Famous Pole Lap:
Mark Blundell set a legendary pole position lap time of 3:27.020 in the #24 Nissan R90CK. During the qualification run, an overboost issue resulted in estimated engine output surpassing 1,000 hp.

Race - 🥈
The 2003 Mobil 1 Grand Prix de France was the 10th round of the 2003 Formula One World Championship, held on July 6, 2003, at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.
It was a dominant weekend for Williams-BMW, who secured a lights-to-flag 1–2 victory.
🏆 Podium & Highlights
🥇 🇩🇪 Ralf Schumacher (Williams-BMW) started on pole and lead every lap.
🥈 🇨🇴 Juan Pablo Montoya (Williams-BMW) Finished +13.813s behind his teammate and recorded the fastest lap of the race (1:15.512).
🥉 🇩🇪 Michael Schumacher (Ferrari) — Finished +19.568s back to claim the final step on the podium.
Ralf Schumacher held onto the lead off the line. Kimi Räikkönen made a strong getaway from 4th, jumping Michael Schumacher for 3rd position into Turn 1.
Rubens Barrichello spun across the line at the end of lap 1, dropping him to the back of the grid before fighting his way back up to 7th.
Michael Schumacher managed to leapfrog both McLaren drivers through the pit stop cycles, regaining 3rd position.
Both Renaults of Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso retired mid-race due to engine issues.
Championship Impact:
With back-to-back victories for Ralf Schumacher (having also won the European GP a week prior), the Drivers' Championship battle closed up significantly.
Michael Schumacher retained his championship lead over Kimi Räikkönen, but the Williams drivers narrowed the gap substantially as the season reached its midpoint.

🇵🇱 Robert Kubica - Renault R30 V10
Qualifying - 8th
Race - 7th
Kubica drove a competitive race, running comfortably in the points and battling closely with Rubens Barrichello for 6th place.
With roughly 15 laps remaining, Kubica suffered a puncture, forcing an unexpected pit stop that dropped him back down to 13th place.
Armed with fresh tires, Kubica put on a masterclass in overtaking on the unforgiving street circuit, slicing through traffic to pass six cars in the closing laps and cross the finish line in a hard-fought 7th position.
Clip shows two of the overtakes and you will probably notice he isn’t even holding the steering wheel with both hands all the time 🤯
