The Honourable Stephen Lecce @sfleece, Minister of Education and Mike Harris @mikeharrisjrpc, MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga, visited Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School (@WOCarpeDiem).
Students gave the Minister and MPP a tour of the greenhouse and demonstrated how they care for plants, including fertilizing, weeding and more. Afterward, they learned more about green industries and family studies classes and they experienced the school’s farm-to-table approach.

We’re working hard to listen to the voices that reflect the diversity of #WRDSB. This approach will allow students who observe #Eid & #Diwali to enjoy time with their families. It’s just one way we’re working to better serve all students & families. #OntEd cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener…

To honour the life of the late James K. Bartleman, 27th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, flags at #WRDSB schools and office buildings will be flown at half-mast until sunset on the day of the funeral.
I was saddened to learn of Donna Reid’s passing - seeing the outpouring of grief from those across Waterloo Region, it’s clear the impact she had on the students she taught, and the community members she served is truly immeasurable. My thoughts are with her family and friends.
